I use styrofoam and superglue a lot. It's easier to control than baking soda.

Buen trabajo, yo habria hecho 3 cosas: 1 Hacer un agujero con un taladro al final de la rotura para que no vuelva a abrirse 2 No lijar por dentro si no se va a ver y asi esta mas fuerte 3 Mas primer y lijarlo, asi queda mejor el acabado. Por lo demas muy bien

Use a sanding block on the edges and the outside surface to get a better, flatter sand out. It will look better under paint.

You don't half have a lot of plastic stuff to repair! 🤭 😜 Came out looking fantastic, so good job! You don't have a good method to repair metal do you? Got a big hole in the rear valance of my car and I can't for the life of me think of a way to repair it so water doesn't pool on the inside of the repair and start the rust off again. Any tips gratefully received! Cheers!

This is good, butI unnecessarily complicated. Just use super glue and baking soda. Simple and effective.

Good! Shelll is ABS material (AN, BD, SM) , and using the foam PS dissolve in solvent to form a strong, hard PS film. Nice try!!

Doesn' t work, breaks as soon as it gets flexed in use. The only repair that works long term is to use plastic welding gun and filer material of the same plastic.

It is quite sturdy because it has been reinforced with steel mesh.

​@@creationholic101that is, almost for sure ABS. Só, it should be welded with ABS rod, at +/-380° with a hot air gun in a speed of around 5 m/s with a noozle of 5 mm. And that is the ONLY way to get a strong repair. Probably stronger in that area than the original. I am doing this for 25 years.

Why use PS? These panels/covers are made of ABS. You can find ABS along the roads or use Lego blocks ad solve it in MEK or aceton.

@@davidsouza7027 Depende. Onde eu moro, a mão de obra é barata e o acesso a peças novas é muito escasso e caro. Portanto, a reparação é uma óptima opção. Já onde eu morava antes, na Europa, era exactamente o oposto. "Na próxima esquina" tinha uma loja onde se podia comprar uma peça nova e barata. Além de que a mão de obra era muito mais cara. Mas mesmo aí, para algumas peças, como carenagens de moto, compensava.

After metal mesh, melt plastics into it instead of superglue and styrene - it becomes too brittle and it makes poisinous fumes like a mofo...

Yo recomendaría que se sustituyera el micropor por bicarbonato, al ser combinado con cianocrilato queda muy reforzado, después solo se pule y listo

Thats a crazy amount of time. Using Evercoat Metal Prep highly pliable, sandable and no pinholes. A quality filler negates the styrofoam and CA.

Jeder Kunststoff der schmelzbar ist kann mit dem Lötkolben und dem Chromstahl Gitter repariert werden 😇 es braucht ab die speziellen Chromstahl Gitter normale Gitter sind nicht stabil genug 🤔 Es gibt aber auch Kunststoffe die gehen nicht weil sie nicht richtig schmelzen sondern sich beim wärmen zerstören und nicht so zu reparieren sind 😱 Es gibt im Netz ein komplettes Set mit speziellen Lötkolben und Chromstahl Gitter inklusive Zubehör für ca 60€ zu kaufen ( die Gitterchen sind schon alleine Recht teuer und können auch einzeln nachbestellt werden )

It's PLASTIC PUTTY. Just ask for that @ the hardware's. (ATM Poly Putty, in the video, probably two-compnents).

Styrofoam will melt like that with cyanoacrylate (fancy name for super glue.). Most of the time I've seen these repairs done with a baking soda and CA
