I just had to tell you. I have seen a lot of people doing things w/ those inks. I even gave them a little go my self. Never really enjoyed them much. But after watching you do this on that yupo paper. I can not wait to get some yupo paper and the other supplies your using & get bust. I am just loving what you are doing. So thank you so much for sharing your creativeness. You have inspired me to try something new. Hope you have a wonderful day.

So excited to see alcohol ink project. What a great idea with the blow dryer. My daughter in law and I actually just finished 3 alcohol ink projects on our vacation. She did have to take several air breaks during the process. The fumes did not seem to bother me. We did wear gloves. We were camping in a tent trailer so we had plenty of ventilation. I’ve been on the fence about the alcohol pen but I think I will purchase it now to get those fine details. It is such an uncontrollable medium which I found kinda of frustrating since I like to be in control.lol the pen will give me a little of that control back.❤️

CeeCee I noticed the face mask that you wore which is really not the best mask for serious issues! I just happen to have a very good mask that is an extra and it has just been sitting in my drawer feeling lonely. I’m not sure if your on Facebook but I’m happy to message you and send it to you. It just has a Velcro attachment so it is not a huge problem to mess your hair up and the like. Just tell me yeah or nay, it is no big deal to me, it is just gaining dust? It would be a pleasure after watching this stunning picture. Thanks, Sean

Absolutely love this...I’m just starting using alcohol inks and using homemade inks until my alcohol inks arrive (live in Italy)...I completely understand the health issues using alcohol ink/alcohol as finding it hard with fumes from the 99 per cent alcohol, with precautions the weather here is too hot so tried for a while but will move and work somewhere else... Anyway LOVE this piece and found your video great!

I love the painting. However, the mask you are using looks like a dust mask. OK for using with pastels perhaps, but it will not protect you from toxic vapours. You need a gas/vapour mask - costs more, but worth it. Please take care, we enjoy your work very much. 🙂

Have you tried using a straw to move the ink instead of a hairdryer? It might not cause as many problems with the fumes.
@creationsceecee
@creationsceecee 6 жыл бұрын
i did use a straw 3 years ago in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJDZqJKYns6UbqM but i used very little blending solution, if at all, and no isopropyl alcohol. at the time i was also filming right in front of a window. the use of a straw also implies that you have to be closer to your work and therefore closer to the vapors. all this to say that the best solution for me is to do it outside since i am using a lot harmful chemicals. even Ranger Ink has an 8 -page safety data sheet on the alcohol inks which i wasn't aware of at the time that i filmed my very last video this week.

CeeCee your art is gorgeous and inspiring. I’m very new to this art form and love the alcohol inks very much even though they can be a lil frustrating...lol...but I agree with you the lack of control we have with it is probably what draws us to it as well as the beauty it creates...it’s magical at times. My question, the paint pens you are using (the black) is it acrylic? I have acrylic paint pens in many colours but I ask because I have seen alcohol ink ones as well so now I’m wondering? Thank you so much for your experiments and explanations as well as all the safety awareness tips. Xx...Noralyn

thank you so much for this comment, Noralyn! the pens i've used are not paint based. here's what i used: • black Microperm pen, size 01 (Sakura) bit.ly/2IS4pA9 or black Permawriter pen, size 01 (Yasutomo) bit.ly/2scFCRe • pocket brush pen (pentel) amzn.to/2TcqLoL i've seen people use acrylic paint based markers on their work so you might want to try on a swatch to see how they react to the alcohol inks. wishing you tons of fun with your projects and please use a gas mask if you are not working in a well ventilated area!

thank you, Pam. i don't use Pigma Micron pens on my AI paintings. i usually use one of these: black Microperm pen, size 01 (Sakura) bit.ly/2IS4pA9 or black Permawriter pen, size 01 (Yasutomo) bit.ly/2scFCRe . i have sealed with Kamar and nothing shifted. hope that helps.

Amazing. Just beautiful considering the limited control you have over alcohol inks which is part of their appeal. Just brilliant. Thanks for sharing Cece. Kathy B. (Fairylady0227) 💜

Thank you so much for the info. This info should be on the packaging. What is the board you taped the Yupo to.
