Yea it can. I’m an amateur doodler and stopped 2 years ago. I fell into a severe depression. In May of this year, I was diagnosed with Bipolar Depression and with the right medications I’m so much better. I picked up my pen again. I doodle everyday. I’m not that great at it but it helps to shift my focus from being sad and anxious to being in a happy place. Your videos showed up on my recommendation. So I subscribed last week. It’s been really helpful. Be blessed.

i agree with @artdancelvr! it's such a shame that others feel the need to stunt your creativity. grab that pen or brush and just go for it! the result is not the end game, it's only a stepping stone for the next piece. remember that and keep doodling!

Thank you. This REALLY kickstarted my painting in watercolour. No matter what anyone said to me, I lost confidence and was too afraid to try.. I thought I would wreck a piece of expensive paper, embarrass myself etc. this being doodles only, freed me from fear. I actually doodled thru the night till morning!!! Mine are now very different to your style, but started from yours. So, thank you. I am now painting, painting, painting, everyday now -!lots of different watercolours. Mercury from Australia

Cee Cee, Cee Cee, Cee Cee.... Your "mindless" doodles are nothing short of magical. Your doodles have a rhythm and a style that is lyrical. The addition of the dot background is genius. The subtle changes in the weight of each line is brilliant. I smile as I hear you challenge us to find a flower just like yours in real life. Your flowers are uniquely designed by you and I love that about them. Thank you for sharing your marvelous talents with us. 🌿🌼

Your doodling always inspires me! My hubby just turned 60. The card I made him was inspired by your doodles bookmarks. I used Tombow dual brush markers instead of watercolors. I also layered some faint stencil patterns for texture. Doodling was done with my beloved TWSBI Eco fountain pen and DeAtramentis document ink along with white gel pen. He loved the card & I thank you for the spark of inspiration I needed. XO

You're so right about doodling in pen rather than pencil. I used to doodle in pen all the time. The I wanted to do more complex works and plan illustrations, but I've found I get more stressed when I draw now even if I'm just trying to doodle with pencil. I'm gonna try to remember to get back to pen sketches to loosen back up.

I'm inspired! I love the whimsy doodle. It has so much style and just what the world of art is all about! I've always preferred to doodle flowers and leaves, fences and beach scenes. I've just gotten a watercolor set and have started somewhat. You have a grand way to keep it simple, no overthinking and anything goes! That's art! My mind is a poppy field. And yes! Big stress reliever. I had a teacher in Jr. High that praised everyone's work. She would say 10 A's for you and 10 A's for you...and so on! She was the master. One of the reasons I still doodle today!

I live in Canada on Vancouver Island and a local grocery store here makes thin crusts pizzas and packages on black cardboard...about 8 x 12 inches...making them perfect to use as a backboard for my watercolours! One side is plain cardboard but the other side has a sort of a waterproof black shiney finish.I can easily adhere my paper to it with tape that easily removes after. Great way to keep them out of the recycler. Perhaps have a look around your local deli depts. I can reuse them over and over as they are very sturdy.

that's a good suggestion, as long as the backing in question is not porous. thank you for sharing this!

I've doodled most of my life...but started exploring watercolour palettes that came in a screw apart, 4-tiered disc. My sole purpose was to give customers some idea of the potential those paints had. I worked in an art shop for some years. They looked like something a young child would use, till you started 'mindlessly' fooling around. Such a wonderful, liberating experience for a perfectionist! Always trying to colour inside the lines, never satisfied with anything I do, but loving the spontaneous look of the work others come up with. What a difference it makes when you don't care so much! You have tons of fun & love what you've achieved!! All this happened while I was trying to help others believe they too, could be creative, just not to worry so much about what it 'should' look like! It is what it is! Thank you, CeeCee, for your beautiful, tranquil presentation, you gentle giggle, beautiful inspiration & generous sharing of your work. Loved every moment.

I was on pins and needles for a few sec when you first started doing the black doodles between the borders because sometimes - it doesn't work out. And I'm thinking "go easy - what if you don't like the way it looks in the end - if it's too heavy or to weighed down for those super light and airy and whimsical florals?!" but at 9:27 we see the full picture and it actually looks gorgeous. These look like flowers that have been through the looking glass. I imagine that Alice has come across these chasing the rabbit. They are flowers that come with their own cosmos or universe webbed in between the blooms. And the ones with the lines - I will call those stretch trumpets because they seem like they can stretch and music will come out. :D Not that one needs to imagine anything when looking at doodles or art, it's just what I imagined when looking at these. I like them a very lot. Thanks for the doodle download as well. I might try some flower doodling!
