Day two done! Drums are my weakest part I feel, so I'm not super happy with what I have, but I'm sure I'll tweak as I move forward and get time to check out the extras for this lesson.That little bit of advice at the end was very relevant and helped, soooo... onward!d

Yesss well done! And yes we don’t always need to like what we make, just do it and trust the process ❤️ it’ll all come together!

Very helpful! Curious why drums would be linear? Is it just a fun challenge to foster creativity for yourself, or are there other reasons to not stack sounds?
@LNADoesAudioStuff Жыл бұрын
Linear patterns react different to groove rather than polyphonic patterns. They leave more space for rhythm, also easier to mix. The second one I make is polyphonic in this video. Just wanted to showcase something different :)

It's actually a brilliant approach! Simplicity

Thanks for this second day, I'm super inspired with all your tips! Especially the clips to start an idea is fantastic! 🙌🏼 I've been using ableton for 2 years now and didn't even know this feature.😅Looking forward to tomorrow's video 🙂

Hello, at 1:54, since this video are clips from the course, I not sure how you got to this step. I assume this is just a general overview video right?

I have your "30 Drum Patterns in 16 Genres" PDF. I was looking at that because I want to make Lo Fi Drums. There are a few lo fi drum patterns in there! It seems that the rule of not having the beats on top of each other has exceptions. Maybe you could explain that. Thanks for this challenge.

Yes that’s a great guide for this challenge! Yes so the first example is called linear pattern and the second one (which I used in my project) is called polyphonic pattern. That is when sounds are on the top of each other. Bot are good techniques to use.

@@LNADoesAudioStuff Thanks for clearing that up!

Am I missing something but is the final outcome derived from the midi clip, not linear? Good stuff either way
@LNADoesAudioStuff Жыл бұрын
Hi, yes so in the beginning I show the linear technique but in my own session I used polyphobuc pattern inpires by the MIDI clip. For the challenge you can choose to do what ever inspires you :)

@@LNADoesAudioStuff yeah, I think I missed that transition. Makes sense.
