Since metonymy and synecdoche seem much alike in usage, though they really aren't, could you please make a video, specifically highlighting the delicate differences lingering between them?

Very informative video. Kindly also take allusion, poetic license and paradox with examples. Special request to differentiate illusion and allusion.

Sir, I'm confusing transferred epithet with personification
@TheEnglishNut
@TheEnglishNut 4 ай бұрын
@@getempowered “Because I could not stop for death - he kindly stopped for me.” - this is personification, referring to something non-human like death as ‘he’.

Enclosed are the updated project guidelines and_______ (this/these/ they) need to be shared with the entire project team to ensure compliance. Plz tell the correct answer and its explanation

These... This and these refer to singular and plural objects respectively whereas they refers to third person in plural. Here you are referring to guidelines..ie plural objects..so these is the correct option

I am not very clear about why ' lend me your ears' is not an example of synecdoche. Please clarify.

Is the following sentence an example of the use of synecdoche or metonymy? : "I don't want to sleep on an empty stomach." I think it's metonymy. I think "empty stomach" is a metonym for being hungry, right?
@TheEnglishNut
@TheEnglishNut 4 ай бұрын
It's neither. Empty stomach is quite literally that--an empty stomach.
