Looking at the reference near the end, I just realised how the other mother from Coraline closely resembles a goliath beetle.

Wow, stop motion is just amazing. It's like you have these material like some fabric, sticks and stuff like that and you can use all of them the way you like, building, cutting, gluing, coloring, molding. And so the characters and environment are created, all by the insane amount of creativity, passion and efforts. I hope stop motion will grow strongly and get appreciated more. Such a great form of art.

I would love to meet the entire team behind Laika! I really appreciate their work, down to the smallest detail! Their movies saved my life. You done know how ugly it gets when you hit depression... but every time I watch their movies specially coraline (my fav) I forget about everything!

This is such a huge fulfillment of a need I have for knowing the technical details about how these types of films are done . I have been fascinated by this all my life and even made a crude stop action film of my own , at one point . I still hope I'll have a chance to work within this genre someday .

A fascinating glimpse into the specific costuming challenges involved in stop-motion animation, especially fabric scale and how to use differing textures to appear similar to human sized garments.

This is an odd thought, i wonder how they decide where each character model is going to go after each film, cos it looks like they keep them around as reference or even ornaments, i wonder if each department try to bag different characters to keep in their department? Haha x
