Just realised he created The White Lotus. The process was worth it 😅

What he says about the creative process here is absolutely right on (and I'm a creativity coach and writer.) And if you watch "Enlightened," you'll realize that this guy has the authority to say whatever the heck he wants to say about the creative process anyways. Cause in my mind, Mike White is absolutely downright stunningly brilliant. His voice has a ring to it like Peter Handke's in "Wings of Desire," and he won the Nobel Prize in literature last year. (Call me a rabid Mike White fan. Yea.)

What aboit Enlightened makes you say he has the authority to say whatever he wants I'm curious? I don't know anything about the movie and haven't seen it.

Holy shit, that is my method on the money...lazy and full of self loathing for not working , but enjoying the day and letting the 'time' hit and when it does it comes out clear and fast and a lot. Cant force it ever

This is so true to life, lol. I spend some amount of time every day laying in bed and I'm sure it seems crazy to my girlfriend like, why are you laying in bed in the middle of the day doing nothing? Cause that's where the ideas happen! That's where I go to get past a road block. If I stay sitting at my desk there's too many distractions. Maybe I'll go on facebook, think about my back hurting, etc. The bed is where I can just not have a screen front of me, have my body totally relaxed and not strained, close my eyes, and just be nothing but a consciousness floating in a void. I dream of having my own sensory deprivation tank one day.
