Your grandmother is a great teacher. I have said before, she taught me how to crochet. Her step by step instructions and speed in which she does it makes anyone able to crochet. I’m left handed and I can do it. Cody is so personable and cute too. Good luck in your endeavor.

The jumbo 7 yarn makes great throws/afghans. They require a super giant hook, OR just your fingers. (I personally cannot just use my fingers.) My adult daughter requested one for Christmas either last year or the year before. I granted her wish. I told myself I would never use this yarn ever again. Lol. She has at least three more requests for me to make Afghans out of that giant yarn. Works faster than anything I’ve ever used before. And I’ve been crocheting for over 40 years. It just seemed beyond awkward to me. It gave my whole upper body a workout to use it. lol. Good luck Cody, that is some very unique yarn! Gorgeous yarns! I need this Lori to adopt me, lol. Amazing yarns!! Too bad I already have too much yarn! 😂 Happy crocheting! 😁👍

It was fun watching Cody get excited over all the happy mail yarn he received. I particularly like the Roll with It yarn. It’s one of my favorites. I’ve made a couple or three blankets with it. Showtime is my favorite color and when you work the moss stitch with it, the variegated colors really come through. I’ve made a rectangle, a square and a C2C blanket with Roll With It.🥰

My paternal grandma taught me the chain stitch but I struggled with learning more from her and my maternal grandma when she found out I was trying to learn. I was like 8 or 9. Fast forward to my 40's and I started learning with KZbin videos and help from friends. I wish everyday I would have tried harder to learn from my grandmas.

I have been a fan of Lion Brand yarns for 40 years. When I knit I mostly use high end yarns, but if it is something that will get hard use I head for Lion Brand. Now that I am crocheting, it is my first choice.

I loved looking at all that yarn. Ferris Wheel is one of my favorite yarns so Cody will have fun working with it. I suggest an afghan that's lighter weight for warmer weather when you still want something to cuddle up with while watching movies or reading. Since it is a 3 weight, Ferris Wheel is perfect for that and since the color patterns are so interesting, you only need a simple stitch.
