Hello - I had similar sparking/popping problem on vacuum cleaner motor- sanded back armature - still had problem - is it possible that bad bearings could also cause this type of heat spark?. The bearings on both ends had a little play but rolled smoothly .

I have makita angel grinder the same size u have and it hase the same problem i tried this way before and it doesn’t work with me but maybe i need to clean it carefully the next time and i will show u the result thank u sir

Should you have pulled bearing off before sanding commutator? Even with seal, a few abrasive grains could get into bearing, and will stay there forever destroying bearing.

Sounds like you still have a problem. I have 2ea MAKITA 41/2” grinder with the same issue. I feel they made a mistake in the manufacturing this model. Mine is still new.
