My Canon 1DX Mark ii Settings For Video & Photo

This highly requested video covers my main settings on the Canon 1DX Mark ii for video and photo! These are also the same settings Ive used on ANY canon camera in the past such as the Canon 6D, 6D Mark ii, 5D Mark IV and so on. I cover which Focus methods I use, which Picture Profile I use, video formats, all of the above. These are the BEST settings for ME but I recommend trying these out and molding them into your own favorite settings through experience. hey sorry to be that guy, I think you got the kelvins part twisted. it's acutally the higher the kelvin the more cooler "daylight" it will be, the lower the number, the warmer it will be. Tungsten for example is in the lower 3k range. Daylight is in the 5k+ range

I used to set my white balance custom to each environment. What you do is find someone wearing a grey or white shirt, take an out of focus pic of it ensuring it fills the whole frame, now find the image and set it as your custom white balance profile, boom, you got the best white balance you can get because that image is lit by the scene your shooting 👍🏻

I’m trying to use the idx mark ii for video now instead of just pictures but idk if it’s just me, but the auto focus sometimes just focuses in and out not sure what I’m doing wrong, like I’m going around the subject and tap the subject in focus shoot the vid, and sometimes it goes in and out instead of staying in focus any suggestions??

Love your content. I’m saving up to get a t7i and the sigma lens. Basically the same setup your brother has. Did you have any problems with the autofocus interfering with the audio?

The sound from your lenses focusing will resonate through the camera body. Rycote suspended mics normally do a relatively good job but can still pick up on noisy lenses. Best bet, go off-camera

yo Ryan you need to set your 120fps to a different camera profile. I can't imagine having to dig through the settings every single time. I have mine set to c3 (custom 3) so I can go from 24 to 120 in seconds
