Nice and to the point. Well done! There are two things I want to mention in my own experience--1. When I tried to download Cakewalk and selected all the options, the process hung for hours until I stopped it. @danieklerr3 жыл бұрын
@@intrudergrid9530 .. I've used dozens of interfaces over a period of nearly 30 years, and they all can be operated with an ASIO driver. There are companies which (foolishly) recommend against using ASIO, but you can still use an ASIO driver. And, in my humble opinion, you should, as it will maximize your performance/latency in your DAW environment.
@mikeomalanga7093 жыл бұрын
@@danieklerr you seem to know your stuff. First off what does ASIO even do? Next, when I clicked ASIO I had no audio so I just changed it back to MME (32 Bit). Would that be an issue?
@danieklerr3 жыл бұрын
@@mikeomalanga709 .. Hello.. ASIO is driver protocol developed by Steinberg (original developer of the VST, and maker of Cubase), designed to optimize performance and decrease latency. If you chose ASIO and heard no sound, it's because once it's chosen you have to select your interface again as the device for audio input and output. If you go back to MME, it won't hurt anything. Also, if you are using the native audio in your computer, without an external interface, I'm not sure it's possible to use the ASIO protocol. I hope this helps. If not, let me know and I'll try to walk you through it.

@WFR reading and rereading and trying to figure out a solution . . . When I installed Cakewalk even though checked "install everything," I had no virtual instruments at all but cakewalk could see my usb interface. But no sounds. Solution was that my virtual instruments had not at all been installed (despite having checked the boxes). I had to go back to Bandlab assistant and perform supplemental installs of the other parts. There's a learning curve to MIDI which was one of my problems. To record midi audio you must be sending it to an audio track. But I'm so inexperienced that I question the value of my own advice. Please see my previous post and tell us if you solve the problem. I solved mine. My advice is find a MIDI keyboard. It will do everything you need. And Im convinced we're in the right place.

Help I can't record anything. I think it might be because there are no MIDI inputs or outputs. How do I get those? I'm very new to this I've never done it before...

@@leahtistrahmad1369 i had same problem in past .. how ever after searching i find out the key .... the problem is that you have to select your input devices ... if you want to record from mic.. you should go to EDIT ,,PREFERENCES ,,PLAYBACK AND RECORDING ,, and then from DRIVE MODE you have to select your headphone (mic) mode ... which almost usually (MME) if you want to record from digital piano or keyboard ..from the track window search for (virtual controller ) and then choice MIDI Omni . hope that helps

Hi, I'd like to import stereo .wav files into my projects. The stereo tracks as created consist of one .wav file for the left channel and another .wav file for the right channel. Can I bring them into one stereo Cakewalk channel.? I know I can send them to a stereo buss and control them but now I have 3 faders control one stereo image when I'd like just 1 fader. Thanks for your help.
@CreativeSauce4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Yes if you select both tracks, then open the Tracks tab, you can use the Bounce to Tracks option
@garrettoostdyk66884 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeSauce Thanks for the reply. When do I select the tracks in the Bounce to Tracks window? Regardless of how I try it just creates 2 more mono tracks. My method is Tracks-- Bounce to track(s) - (Destination) New Track (Preset )Blank- (Source-)Tracks- (Channel Format) Stereo (Source Tracks) Track 1 Track 2. It creates a stereo Track 1 and a stereo track 2. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong? I found that if I mute every track but the 2 mono tracks and then bounce the entire mix to stereo that works but could become a challenge with may tracks in a project. Thanks agin for your help and your videos

Don't know if you got it sorted, but I believe in one of the other video's he covered it. Go to preferences, under Audio and Recording you'll see a tick box "Suspend audio engine when cakewalk is not in focus" I'm pretty sure you need to tick that box.
@navayoerlangga22953 жыл бұрын
The issue was a mistmatch between your interface and Window's Default Format. For example, if your DAW project is set to 44k and your Interface to 41, the audio interface will "take over" and prevent windows from using the bus. To fix this you need to change window's default sample rate to the one u usually set your DAW project with work with. Go go Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Right click your Presonus' Main out device (Default device) -> Properties -> Advanced -> change the Default Format to the one your DAW uses. That's it!

Uh, I'm a bit late to the party so I doubt you'll respond lol, but I have this weird issue with CakeWalk. I installed ASIO4ALL and it lets me use the ASIO audio drive (finally) but I can't seem to record anything using the SI-drum kit. I assume this is also the case for other kits too, but Idk yet. Also, this happens whenever CakeWalk is open: imgur.com/a/fXeFjMA It's REALLY annoying as I can't watch your video while adjusting CakeWalk. Do you have any idea what's the problem? Thanks
@CreativeSauce4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. All DAWs tend to struggle when using the internal sound of your system. The error is happening because the audio system is being shared by Cakewalk and other programs. You can do some basic things, but in reality you need a dedicated audio interface for music production. In the meantime, this may help www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR&language=3&help=Troubleshooting.12.html

It has fulfilled my every musical need, from early MIDI projects through recording, editing, mixing and mastering an album. My most recent Cakewalk permutation is Sonar 6 (if it ain't broke, don't fix it.) I am stoked to try the free download.
