That BRS Vangelis Blade Runner patch alone justifies cost of the entire pack!

I’m not much of a preset pack guy as I tend to make patches on a specific use case basis Bu these are so damn good. They make a synth I got for 500 bucks (that already sounded like it could cost three or four times more) sound like a synth that is pointless to put a price on, because your never getting rid of it. Brava, good sir! I say braaavvvaaaa! The DeepMind mod matrix sources and destination list seems especially suited to this kind of approach and, thanks to the screen everyone loves to crap on, all the information to reverse engineer all these patches, and make something similar yourself, is easily understood. Thanks again, my dude. Keep fighting the good fight.

First couple months with DM 12 , and have added a few Patch Libs. Nothing is close to overall quality and usefulness of Vintage VCM !! Will keep me using /learning for much time ahead, YET hoping for an equally cool follow-on Soundset 🙏🏻 Many thanks Jason C. ✌🏻

Just found this via a comment you posted on the DM12 Facebook page.... Had not realised you were a pro programmer (DOH) and that you've have done so much in depth sound development on many synths... I have a DM12 and a Rev 2, so I'm going to make some time this weekend and listen to both your patch banks for these synths.... Have subbed straight away...

Listened to your video and when I heard "No Quarter" I was sold. Went over and bought the patches at the bargain price. I never finished your video and have been blasting the Phat12 since. BTW... the latest version of Arturia's Jupiter VST (version 4, which was just recently released) has some voice modeling controls built in... thought you might be interested to know... it sounds great when you dial things in!... maybe not as majestic as the OGs, but very good sound.

Just got this soundset for my DM-12. Truly amazing work! I'm very pleased! Have you considered offering soundsets for the Korg Wavestate made from your recording of samples of classic VCO synths? The Korg Wavestate is a very popular instrument right now. I'm sure such soundsets would sell very well for you. Cheers!

So is the Deep Mind an analogue device? Because it is how it is advertised. Is a VCO technique analogue or digital?
@CreativeSpiral3 жыл бұрын
The Deepmind is *mostly analog* in terms of sound engine. The oscillators are DCOs - which are digitally controlled analog oscillators - as opposed to VCOs, which are analog/voltage controlled analog oscillators. DCOs have the advantage of digital control clock timing which results in perfect tuning for each oscillator and each voice... which was a needed solution back in the early 80s when synth manufacturers were starting to offer high polyphony voice counts on their analog synths. (there was an issue back then that there was too much tuning variance per voice when using dozens of VCOs over multiple voices and multiple octaves) So DCOs "solved" that problem... HOWEVER - they are perfect in their tuning, and that perfection takes away from vintage character. So these VCM methods add a small amount of character back into the osc performance over multiple voices, as well as adding variance to filter and envelopes (the envelopes benefit greatly from a little variance, if you want a more vintage or analog acoustic sound) If you're interested in much more detailed info, I've written up lots on the VoiceComponentModeling.com website, and there are more articles here: www.presetpatch.com/articles/voice-component-modeling

How do you manage your Deepmind patches? I'm on PC, and my biggest complaint about the Deepmind is Behringer did not develop a real librarian for it. Accordingly, I rarely use it.
@CreativeSpiral3 жыл бұрын
The Behringer Deepmind application on Windows works pretty well for librarian needs. (www.behringer.com/downloads.html) You can navigate through the eight banks on DM, plus have as many extra user banks of patches stored on your computers as you want, and instantly be able to audition the sounds. The only thing I wish for in the app was if you could directly control the DM from a 3rd party midi controller, from a routing in app... but I just workaround by routing through daw.

when your midi controller cost more than your analog polysynth...

Hah - true. Though I use it for several hardware and VST synths... it gets around. The S61mk2 is a great feeling keybed, and interface for NI ecosystem.

Hi CS! What do you think of the Behringer approach to VCM on the UBXa?? It's mentioned here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/roauiWiHd8SrZ8k
@CreativeSpiral2 жыл бұрын
Saw that.. hard to tell exactly what their implementation methodology is, and the values listed. The concept of having multiple different, selectable voice variance lookup tables is something I’ve been advocating for though, and looks like that’s the direction. When it comes out I plan on picking one up and will investigate further… I’m hoping they are using stable, curated offsets to parameters, and not introducing a bunch of randomness or drifting motion, which is unrealistic and produces a more artificial sound.
@decimal18152 жыл бұрын
@@CreativeSpiral Yes, I wondered that too as they mention "drift" in the atrophe profiles. Hope they release the manual soon and lift the NDAs!
