If you're still interested in this I'm reading a book now titled "Exploring the Invisible: Art, Science, and the Spiritual" by Lynn Gamwell. It is a fascinating read that delves into the history of art imitating science and science imitating art.

"Creativity is problem solving"…..okay, we know where this is going. As an artist working in several mediums I can tell you I have never ever thought about making art, creating, creativity as "problem solving" and my creative peers never, ever think about or talk about our process and our work as "problem solving." What an old, patriarchal, materialist way of thinking which has nothing to do with creativity in its purest form. Watch children who are unhampered in their imagination and creativity,…there is never a time when they are trying to "solve a problem>" They are in free play; wild abandonment in the mutual relatationship between themselves and the creative. These guys are all trying to sell the same product…..brain science equals creativity. Yawn….yawn….back to authentic creativity.

Explain how it's patriarchal. Conventional maybe, but how in the world can you link the (non existing) "patriarchy" to this.

And "materialist"???? Also "old" ways of thinking are not necessarily bad. Get a clue.
