I found the documentary quite fair minded and it gave a fair hearing to both sides ; I ended up feeling sorry for the genuine Osho followers who were seeking a spiritual path ,they came across as intelligent and articulate.But I also found myself feeling sorry for the locals ! I dont think Osho himself was a "bad" man ,he obviously started with pure intentions ,but a hardcore of his followers were clearly loopy and deranged ,Ma Sheela for one, and as in all human groupings power politics came into play . A shame, because Oshos teachings are as relevant as ever.His books continue selling worldwide, and people continue flocking to the ashram in Poona.

that's not a point. Harshe Cod is right. If he was what he allowed people to say he was, he would have seen it, anticipated on it and dismantle it. He decided to stay silent when terrible things happened. Here's the thing: I believe enlightened people (if they excist at all) don't want to be admired in that way. Because they know if they let it happen, it becomes an ego-driven operation. Always be an observer of your own life. He still had a lot to learn.
@wannabevegan5656 жыл бұрын
SimonKeats79 Well, I believe that initially he was a very philosophically intelligent person but later his followers and disciples made him a Godman. Hence, eventually he became what every fake Guru is. False claims, paid visits to rich people, business of playing with feelings of followers etc. Or else, he was a great thinker and had many views ahead of his time. Had he restricted freedom in his ashrams like in ISKON, it would have been better. Because many Americans came into the ashram thinking it was some sort of new Hippie movement and they could do whatever they wanted to. Drugs were one of them. So actual followers who came to seek enlightenment were overshadowed by these shallow minds. And Osho didn't care of the same.

So FBI forced him to sign on a fake passport and papers with name of someone else's on it so that they can have any evidence of fraud. But when he didn't sign those papers. FBI gave him poison which could have killed him but he survived. They didn't give him bail although United States attorney argued for three days and concluded in the end by saying, "I have not been able to prove anything against him, but neither has the other party been able to prove anything." And many more facts were there which are not shown in the documentary I don't know why. I have nothing against America. Because the people who did this to him are ignorant. Osho or any leader for that matter must make sure that there isn't an excess of blind followers, and that people who follow him also think critically against him. raleighman3000 As per the documentary, The Oregonians drew first blood, but it was understandable since this was after Jones Town...they treated the Rajneshees with hostility with slogans like 'Better Dead than Red'...what started the escalation was when Oregonians threatened the Rajneshees, armed themselves and bombed thier hotel.....so the question is...which side do you support...being a regressive conservative and shooting first, or fearing safety and then retaliating in a bigger way?
@seangibbons81836 жыл бұрын
nitin kumar You think America is a shame on democracy? Ole Bhagwan here wasn’t dedicated to the values of democracy, he was manipulating the system for his own selfish gains. Let’s look at his political strategies, did he engage in public discourse with his neighbors outside of the commune and make compromises with them so that they might be willing to find common ground and try to work together? No he did not, what he did was truck in thousands of the most vulnerable people in society promising them a home and security, all the while claiming some great superior altruism. We the horrible Americans were treating these poor homeless people so terribly and he and his followers were giving them back their dignity. Then the people of Oregon realizing that this was a sham rig an election that was technically legal decided to do a blanket and temporary ban on voter registration, this ban affected everyone mind you, not just the rajneeshies. And what happens once Bhagwan realizes his plan failed the election was lost and he was left with thousands of psychologically unstable and vulnerable people. Did he continue to extend his magnificent altruism to them, giving them a home so that during the next election they would be able to vote? No he put them in vans and buses at gun point and discarded them in random small towns around the state of Oregon. And then on top of that his other wonderful political strategy was to poison the town so they would be unable to go to the polls and vote. If you look at this situation and see Americans as hypocrites with a false democracy and the Bhagwan as an innocent victim, then you don’t have a very good understanding of democracy or of human decency.

The definition of a cult is: a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object. This is exactly how the Rajneeshees treated Osho. The viewed him as a sort of god and would carry out all of his orders, even those involving death. I am personally an atheist and view all religion and mysticism as the same: fools being duped by smarter fools. I have no problem with you worshiping a god or gods but the minute you involve the mistreatment and harm of innocents, is the minute I have a big problem with it.

Bhagwan made America violate its own precious laws and overrated constitution without firing a shot. He should have opened his commune in a country with a more sophisticated and ancient wisdom, America is not that place by a long shot. His wisdom and his ashram thrives to this day back in India where it all began in the first place. India is the only country on the face of the earth where sophisticated religions and ideas are born and thrive. There is a reason for why Hinduism and Buddhism are not spread around the world in huge numbers like other mainstream manual religions. Bhuddism and Hinduism don’t go out and convert people by force or manipulation. People seek out and choose these religions seeking true and deep enlightenment, only people with a high capacity for thought do this. These are not religions for walking corpses but for sophisticated open minded beings with intellect and deep understanding.

Osho was a man who lived his life as one dreams to live। In the opinion of seekers of truth। Rajneeshees were not of a। cult। but were creators of a peaceful full of love। and having real humanitarian values They। wanted to create a culture of etrnal love Peace and prosperity where all the possibilities अव। of war। or। World War should be removed for Ever Ever। and all live in complete। harmony। I think it was a holy DREAM

I get that they are in a cult (like Scientology) but I have no idea, other than worshiping ONE GUY, how they are reaching a higher spiritual plane. It seems more like people making big money at the expense of others.

I've not watched the series, but am totally intrigued. I can understand both sides of the divide (as long as nobody starts killing and poisoning and raping if any of that happened), but I think the people who call the white locals racist are unreasonable. Black people also have problems with the idea of gentrification (same concept: 'the onslaught' of 'the other') and who is there to call black members of the community 'racist' at eschewing the arrival of 'the other'. Not many at all I say. Gentrification is also peaceful - there is no killing, raping, etc...it's just that the black people don't like 'the other'. So are black communities 'racist' and unreasonable for not wanting the white people? There is always fear and contempt for The Other. It's a basal instinct rooted in the deepest center of our brain from the beginning of the species...it's 'purpose' is to ensure survival.

Paramahamsa Nithyananda is an awesome guru and living avatar who has an adheenam where people live as sanyassis today. Check out this video of a guy who lived with Osho and now lives with Nithyananda. He said before Osho passed away, Osho said find the youngest living guru to follow. This just so happened to be Nithyananda. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWazl3-QmpueY8k

there are many gurus like sai baba, he was very much like raj neesh, who used similar powers to gain control over people. so it is not the best influence for the west. many were burned.

Beloved Jane, You are so beautiful today :) You can confess truly. Authentically and being sincere. Your each word, each sight expresses Yourself which filled my heart with Love. You embraced me from wherever You are. It is Beyond time and space. I wonder, were You the same when You confessing in churches!! My feeling is, You had been in His presence; in His service without motive. He has been a true, unique and rarest excuse ( very very hard and almost impossible to find such an excuse for any one ) for You so that You go through Life sincerely and give abundant chances to Your true qualities. You have been a chosen One so that an ordinary Jane Storke is coming under lime light, most of the people experiencing Your pure love and Your book has been a hot cake! Had You not come closer to His presence, You would have been like any one else who just living dead. I tried my best to find out You on face book, twitter, Your mail id, just to say THANK YOU, Love You JNAE, but could not succeeded. No matter, I am aware You are already getting it :)

Osho fans never give an answer. They seem to be the most arrogant people on earth. If you don't fall in love with the image of him, it is your fault.
