Disappointed you’re not live streaming the eclipse! Any tips where to find it?
@hughhou8 ай бұрын
I wish but I am in Cali and won't be able to see it. TIME is streaming it on their official channel and same as NASA.

Nice review! Can you also demo on telephoto lens to see how smooth the fluid head is? especially at the beginning of a pan and the ending, changing pan direction, and pan + tilt control, usually cheaper heads can jerk at a stop and pan + tilt combo move can feel like it goes in a stair line, not a diagonal line
@hughhou8 ай бұрын
Great suggestion. I tested it on my looong VR180 right (kinda similar lens of a telephoto lens as the rail is what I use it for), all movement is pretty smooth as long as the weight is balance. You will need to use the 10 stop dails to balance your system very much like Cartoni tripod. After balance - it is super smooth start to end

@@hughhou thanks for the reply, but my point is to review the actual footage shot. On a telephoto lens, any mistakes and micro shake would show up instantly. I've used a lot of heads that may feel smooth but once we're on a shoot, it takes 3 or 4 takes to get a nice smooth slow pan to a stop, hardest would be pushing it on a slider while panning / tilting at the same time. I've only rented tripods and fluid heads that are 2k$ upwards with 100mm bowl head that can confidently handle those situation. A fun game we train for tripod operating is strapping a laser pointer to the camera and print out a circle pattern and a maze, then try to get the laser to follow the lines as smooth as possible. It also shows the fluid head's performance pretty accurately on different cameras

I just bought the canon r5c and dual fish eye. I cannot seem to find the zoom h3vr. But I do have a Sony pcm d100 that can have a y pattern audio. My question is: is there some software where I can manually create ambisonic sounds ? Like an interface where I can place sounds in a sphere and then render it into ambisonic? Thanks Hugh! Without you I don't think vr180 would be a thing for 99% of people.
@hughhou8 ай бұрын
Yes we have ton of tutorial on ambisonic sound here. The software I use is Reaper which is technically free. Follow my ambisonic tutorial on this channel.

Did you get the CALF vr cam yet. I got mine in the mail and have been testing it.I was hoping you could do a tutorial on how to do streaming with the CALF. I tried streaming to my Quest3 but it is very very slow.

I have not had the chance to go back to my CALF yet. Will do soon

❤Question❤ for indoor event coverage abd interviews. For youtube content creation not for money. For under 600 USD which of these 3 would you suggest. □ Amaran 300c □ Colbor CL220 □ NEEWER CB200C 200W The rgb color doesn't matter to me btw, despite 2 of these having them. And the slight price difference is fine. If you have an alternative suggestion I am open to that.

ColBor is what I had and I can suggest. The other two I never tried it

I'm so accustomed to having a weight bag on my tripod. I get anxiety watching your camera hang out on that rail with no weight bag (that counter-balance rig looks nice).
@hughhou8 ай бұрын
Usually I will but for run and gun without an AC, counter balance and my hands are the only tool I have for moving fast.
