The fact that each episode used 2 songs from Gogol Bordello. Makes me think that , that is the overall sound "Voice" of the show, which i think fits perfectly with the Monsters. The whole Gypsy, Folk sound adds so much character, in my opinion.

I love how episode two draws a lot of inspiration from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in various ways while also put interesting spins on the classic tale and the themes of it. I’m interested to see what the other origins are like.

Man I didn’t think I would love the Bride so much and she is a badass. I do feel sorry for her she was created to be lover to another being like her who was stubborn and had a misunderstanding of love. Now I’m gonna say I like how Victor took the time with her to make sure she was ready for the world but yeah I can’t get rid of the other stuff. Dude cheated on his wife with his creation who he had which looked like a father daughter relationship with. But hell we seen it coming.

Actually regarding what you said at 4:32 , I don't think wonder woman is active in this universe yet . Because they only mention themyscira but never mention wonder woman as hailing from that place . They never even mention her once in the themyscira context here

All things Gunn does so far are very similiar in humor and vibe - groups of unlikely heroes - Suicide Squad, Gotg, Peacemaker, now Creature Commandos? Yeah, I hope Superman has very different vibe, yet still has this heart for the characters.

He's described Superman as "relatively serious" and "not an ensemble" so hopefully it's different to what he's done before but we'll see. Obviously it'll have some comedy but it should be more serious than his CBM projects so far

For fans of this music by Gogol Bordello, i recommend the movie Everything Is Illuminated starring Elijah Wood and directed by Liev Schreiber with Bordello on the soundtrack! Also, Wristcutters: A Love Story stars Shea Whigham as a character partially based off of Gogol Bordello’s singer!

Honestly think its so fitting that the first DCU project is an animated show, considering that DC has always excelled in animation which we have the DC Animated Universe to thank for that and ofc we had Super Friends back in the day. Can't imagine not having faith in James Gunn on how he'll handle the DCU and Superman at this point, especially after THIS and every CB project he has given us so far. 👍

To be honest I dont appreciate the crassness that Gunn put into this. It couldve done without it. But the entire premise, animation and writing etc is not bad. A bit tired of the suicide squad universe tho to be honest. Im looking forward to Superman and I hope its different to these teamup shows. As a complementary cartoon this show is fine. But I hope Gunn puts more respect and seriousness to the trinity.

Always excited for people to show love to DC, but if Gunn is claiming he can do a different tone for Supes. He should have shown it instead of doing something just like his last four films and holiday special.

It's an amazing and very promising start. However, don't Romani people consider the "G" word as a racial slur? So, that song was a risky or even inappropriate choice. I mean, "Mexican Jumping Bean" also had a side eye, so maybe writing should be considerate? Since this show has a historical significance, the start of the DCU, so aiming in a way that it doesn't age like milk.

For a very rare occurrence I have a slight difference of opinion to you guys. When talking about staying true to the source material, and how DC has failed to hit the bullseye with their representations/interpretations of these characters and their lore; I have to disagree that any character has to fit into one particular mould. Man of Steel is my favourite movie of all time, and I like to think I’m a Superman fan. I know traditionally he doesn’t kill, traditionally he wears trunks and all of that, but I thought Snyder’s take on the character was a refreshing and different perspective. Other examples like Joker, or even The Batman, which are based on DC properties but have a very strong individual perspective, I just think it always interesting to have those takes around. For example, Hector said if you want Spider-Man to kill then he’s not for you. I both agree and disagree, there is a precedent that the character that was invented way back when does conduct himself that way, but isn’t that the whole point of Elseworld and “What If…?” scenarios. I just think they can all exist whether or not you like them. As always though I respect and appreciate your guys’ opinions and like you, I’m really digging Creature Commandos so far, sorry for rambling.
