Very underrated birds, people are usually turned away by scavengers. Personally I love Vultures and they are super important to the ecosystem!

I love Turkey Vultures. In 2015 a Turkey Vulture laid eggs in my porch roof space. I was able to watch the babies grow each day until they fledged. I had a front row seat and I watched their daily antics from my attic window. I have uploaded a few videos to my You Tube Channel. There is some up close footage of the two babies and their Mom.

Just had two of these beauties in our front yard yesterday afternoon playing clean-up crew to a deceased raccoon. Having had a soft spot for vultures since childhood, it was an honour to experience them, literally, from mere feet away (watched them through the large window). Beautiful, and sadly very underappreciated, birds.

I came home from work to find a flock of about 30 of them all over my house. Some of them were fighting. My guess is breeding season, but driving up to my house I felt like I was living a Stephen King novel lol.

Perfect video! You summed up everything I needed to know about these birds in 5 minutes without pointless graphics and animations and fancy graphics and sound effects, like every other nature channel seems to think is necessary... and you have the animal in question present. A perfect video. Well done, sir!

My mother lives on the 5th floor of her condo close to the foothills of the rocky mtn and even thou she lives in the city the city ends within a couple of miles. Every year a flock of Turkey Vulture hang out in a pine tree out side her window for the summer. The numbers vary but it's about 13 every year. They take off in the morning and and grab the heat rising off of the foothills then fly west to a hiway in the desert to see if there is something dead on it. They come back back to the tree about 7 when the sun is still up and kind of play around in the sky until everyone is back then the all head for the tree and that is when the pushing and shoving starts.. The older birds are in charge and they get the best place. My moms place is higher than the city so you can see them coming. They leave about October and fly South for the Winter but come back in May. .One winter their tree got blown down but that didn't bother them at all as their was another pine tree right next to it. The flight feather fall out sometimes and they are at least a foot long.

My cubs & I were up this morning & noticed this huge bird land on our neighbor's roof. We live in a town where crows & Blackhawks live. We sat & watched this bird for about 10 minutes when 2 others just like him showed up. They were huge. We grabbed our cameras & started taking pictures. We were told that they were Turkey vultures. I can't wait to show my oldest this video. Thank you!

It almost looks like there had been light mist falling based on the water beading on the wings, is that why the bird has its wings spread, to try and dry them? Or is there another reason?

i think they should be made for pet's. It would save wildlife digging in our trash and get hurt from it rotted meat instead of throwing it away just feed it to a turkey vutlure save's wild life from our trash. Won't be a smell of food around for them to get hurt from it. oInly if People can by them in pet store's be the best pet to have living garbage dispencer.
