Again you are answering questions I have had for years! I would also like to know about the smooth UV workflow. So when I am adding subdivs in zbrush do I need to check the Suv button? Or do you create the 3 LODs before you get into sculpting? Because if I smooth the UV's after having sculpted detail, won't the exported disp and normal maps not work?

Hi Grant no you dont need to check the Suv button so you will always export displacements and normal maps from the subdivicion level you are rendering in my case is always a lod 300 , if you only subdivide the model your uvs are going to be fine but if you reconstruct subdivicions in zbrush then your uvs will change so you will need to copy and paste your render mesh uvs into your zbrush model before exporting maps. Very happy that you liked the video !

Lucas, thank you for sharing! Very useful and clear workflow. If you have time would be nice to go deeper into the UV sets (smooth and not smooth) and the implications of that for the texturing guys. Thanks again :D

Thanks for sharing Lucas! Is Lod 300 is the same as the highest subdiv in Zbrush ?
@lucasv888
@lucasv888 3 жыл бұрын
No the lod 300 is the render mesh the highest subd lvl in zbrush is around 50 million polys, lod 300 would be subd lvl 1

Hi Lucas, thank you for all those cool tricks! I see that you have almost 50mil polygons at the highest subdivision level in Zbrush, how can you get that much details at that number of polygons without splitting the model into difference parts? I have a model with 6 subdivs but the details are really low res, what could be the tips you can give me, please!
@lucasv888
@lucasv888 10 ай бұрын
Hey man thats because my topology has more polygons where i need them. As a rule if your model has 100k polys 50k are in the face , makes sense?
@dyncgi
@dyncgi 10 ай бұрын
@@lucasv888 Oh yeah, that makes senses, so the strategical topology is the most important factor to get the good details. Thank you very much!
