0:47 I believe that's a reference to a concept idea they had for Anguirus back in 1955 for his first appearance in Godzilla Raids Again, where Anguirus was envisioned as having his carapace split into two pieces and turned upward, like a beetle shell. The suit was initially built to reflect this, but as the carapace peeled apart each time it moved, it was eventually joined together as a single piece. However, the battle scene between Anguirus and Godzilla at the Osaka port was filmed before the carapace was joined together, and so the effect of the carapace being composed of two separate pieces can be seen during this scene and in promotional images and artwork.

They say that he can't react fast enough at point blank. Anguirus knew he was going to die but couldn't prevent it. They make it a point on how knowing the future is pointless if you can't change it. Idk, whenever time gets involved things stop making sense.

well, GSP Anguirus is only able to see the future by doing this rainbow time-space corruption thing so it wasn't able to see the future when Jet Jaguar attacked it before it could finish the time-space corruption thing. Edit: Wow RTSCT sounds 10x better than rainbow time-s....

Just rewatched the episode and at the start of episode 7, Haberu suggests Anguirus can see the future, but cannot change it. He goes specifically says “what’s the point of seeing the future if you’re not able to change it?” or something to that effect. So it seems like the future may be set in stone. So it knew Anguirus knew what was going to happen to it but was powerless to stop it.

You just said it yourself. They defeated him because when they had the gun at point blank (and in mid air) Anguirus wasn't fast enough to react. His fate was sealed.
@lunarcat42782 жыл бұрын
I mean ok think about it this way in regards to a point blank shot, Anguirus may have had a very high top speed and obviously good twitch reaction speed but to use it's reflection properties it has to both assess the near future, react to a bullet moving approximately 2736 kilometers per hour, or 760 meters per second. An average (human) neuron fires at about 50 meters per second, even accounting for the fact in reflexes a signal doesn't need to travel that far a bullet is 15.2 times faster than a single neuron firing. We can cede that as a kaiju Anguirus doesn't necessarily have to play by these rules, we don't even necessarily have to go by the fact his brain is likely supertemporal like Shiva at the Indian Singular Point. Assuming his nerves function similarly to say wiring his nerves will fire at 270,000,000 meters per second. Roughly the 90% the speed of light. This does mean yes he absolutely can see a point blank bullet coming and in that time start adjusting for the trajectory but he's also still quite massive the amount time it would take is still not something we can neglect. Something fired so close will still likely contact. Moreover we must remember what Yun was firing at Anguirus. It was effectively a harpoon that if I'm not mistaken had an explosive tip. Which Jet Jaguar fired point blank into his head. Which notably was not in Anguirus' protective shell. At that point he effectively beat Anguirus over the the kaiju's one notable weak point with a jet propelled grenade.

It is possible that Rodan doesn’t need the red dust to survive. iirc that wasn’t even mentioned in the show at all. It is mentioned by the news broadcasts in episode 3 that they passed of exhaustion and overheating, nothing at all to do with the red dust. That’s why the first one burned to the touch after falling from the sky. Therefore it follows that if Rodan didn’t need the red dust, neither did Anguirus. (Also remember that Kumonga/Megalon/Crustacean things didn’t need red dust either). Chances are most likely that Rodan died because of overheating which was previously kept in check by them being surrounded by seawater to cool them down. (Since they came out of the ocean). Also with Anguirus seeing into the future, remember that Anguirus was harmed by the lone JSDF soldier before being attacked by the hunters. Only after that did it learn what could harm it. That throws yet another spanner in the works of this future sight thing as why didn’t he look into the future the first time it was attacked?
@beeaggressive1603 жыл бұрын
Oh that makes sense, they’re triphibians. But didn’t they pride the red dust? Doesn’t that mean they’re also singular points?
@nanomachinesshinonome14563 жыл бұрын
@@beeaggressive160 Yep, they did spread the red dust as it is mentioned that it is attached to their bodies, but we only really saw it spread when they were flocking, meaning an individual Rodan didn’t produce much on their own. Anguirus could also have produced red dust, but it’s such a small amount that we couldn’t see it either. The amount of red dust might be tied to how powerful/large a monster is, as shown with Salunga and Godzilla, but that’s just speculation. Also it does seem like the Rodan were competing singular points, as perhaps all the kaiju are.
@Tenebrio-Morio Жыл бұрын
Anguirus didn't look into the future the first time because he didn't know to view the gun wielding human as a threat.
@johnteets4902 жыл бұрын
I feel like it's from the same place as Rodan, otherwise why would it eat them? Also, Rodan is the only species shown to need a Red Dust atmosphere to survive: others like Anguirus exist fine without it, while I got the impression others still were producing the Red Dust, namely Godzilla, and maybe Manda with how the water turned red wherever it went.
@kylenaversen3 жыл бұрын
This design for Anguirus was meant to be used for Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. Unfortunately, he got cut during production, then they thought about using Varan until they decided to create the new and final kaiju of the Godzilla Heisei Series, Destoroyah.

Speculations speculations. What if.. he actualy sees present instead of future? I mean light comes to our eyes after short amount of time so - as human - we actualy see past and not present. Remember this time when he started doing his I'm-raibow-now thing? I belive that it can be some sort of catching light before human can OR giving him shorter time of reaction, like seeing things in 180fps instead of 60, or something like that so he can see in slowmo things that we see with normal speed. As I said, only speculations and never was confirmed either by autor or show, at least I don't know if was. For me still better explanation than looking into future but well, it's sci-fi so looking into future can be more reliable explanation than watching world in 180fps.

Late comment but, i think I know how he would return. Most kaiju that have been in older Godzilla movies that showed up in singular point have had mutable of the species, for example Rodan. I think that there is going to be multiple anguirus, which will have grown to there full size.

Wait what abit salunga because do we know if he need the red dust to survive because we know he can control it because did he come from the other dimension or was he from earth so this could explain that earth has multiple kifu of its own that seek out and destroy the singular point but they only awaken when they sense the big man coming to start a ruckus

@@Kyurem195 Never thought of that. Makes sense since the Manda that washed up had parasites in them and it is suggested to be the Kumonga that built a nest near by. Perhaps the ones on Godzilla are a larval stage that require a host (i.e. Manda and Godzilla) before joining the colony.

@@nanomachinesshinonome1456 personally for me it felt like you could have removed the kumonga’s from the show and it wouldn’t change anything but something I feel could have worked would be had they taken the kumonga from the previous episodes and put them on godzilla’s back in the final episode it make it feel like those episodes were connected

@@Kyurem195 very much so. Their inclusion was very monster-of-the-week-ish to me and felt a bit disconnected from the events at large. It’s like they need something for Haberu, Yun, Otaki and JJ to do without it having too much bearing on the plot. I guess the same could be said for Anguirus, however that more naturally followed from the plot as they was observing the Rodan pile. For Kumonga, they’re just like “hey let’s go investigate this strange looking hive thing”.

Either: 1. She’s an alien (something that is not at all out of place in the Godzilla franchise as it’s been done many times before). 2. She’s referring to Salunga and the dub messed up. I say this as the subtitles literally says “the monkey prevails?”. Right as he stands before her and averts the red dust from making contact with the OD.
