This one is my biggest favourite. So beautiful, love the colour for fur, the eyes and the fangs, so amazing.

Guys, if you want to know how to flock the face with fur, your best bet is looking at references of how fur lays on the face of a real animal. Heck, look at the sculpted fur on Nat's dolls to get an idea of how the fur should lay. If you are having motor trouble laying the fur down, I suggest using tweezers (I have a medical condition that makes fine motor control somewhat difficult for me, so I can understand this). Nat's not trying to be stingy with her techniques; she's just trying to encourage us to learn how to do it without needing to lean on her for all the answers. There's absolutely more than one way to do this; I know people who pattern the face with duct tape and then sew the fur to be like a mask, and people who cover the face in flocking powder with no pattern in mind at all.

Aw that's so great! No I don't have a video on that, it's a technique I've spent a lot of time coming up with so I'd really like to encourage others to work towards experimenting with something that works for them.

Do you have to your furs to get these beautiful colors, or do you have a favorite store/website that you get them at? That purple is so lovely.

I know, that you don't want to show how you put the fur on the skull, but where did you learn it? Is there somewhere out there a book i can buy or anything? I want to know how it works soo bad, i search now for years and found nothing :(

I actually taught myself how to do it, I spent a lot of time experimenting with different techniques.

I've seen a couple different methods. One is where people cut off small tufts of fur and apply it little by little, then they trim it all. Others shave a sheet of faux fur to get really short, dust like bits of fur, then they cover the desired areas with that
@halostudios77077 жыл бұрын

How do you glue fur onto the head without getting a thick layer of glue?
@CreaturesofNat7 жыл бұрын
You could try using different glues that don't need a thick layer applied.
@KaiMars4207 жыл бұрын
OK I used tacky glue What would you recommend
@WhiteKitsuneKnight7 жыл бұрын
I suggest trying a clear glue designed specifically for attaching fabric to non-fabric materials. Fabric Fusion and Fabri-tac are popular brands. The glues themselves are usually viscous, but you can apply them in a thin layer.
@KaiMars4207 жыл бұрын
Okie thank you!!

I Attempt I use air dry clay to sculpt my heads so I attach the fur While it's still soft but If you are using polymer clay or resin like creatures of Nat then I suggest decoupage glue to attach small amounts at a time

How come you cut little slits on the edges of the sewn fur?
@frostdragon646 жыл бұрын
Late reply, but this helps if the fabric needs to bend. The slits help it bend inward so it doesn't look so stiff. Think about your arm. When it bends, it looks natural because it has a bend. Now think about stuffed animals where the arms look extra stiff with no bend. (Think ye olde winnie the pooh dolls from when it first came art) This is the best way I can describe it lol

James Downing artists like myself don’t do commissions for free. That’s how they eat! Asking that is disrespectful to the artist because you show that you don't value her work enough to pay for it even though she poured her heart and soul into it
