Just one minor feedback point: The belt you are wearing needs to be shortened, or an extra clip used to contain excess part that's visible towards the side of your waistband. Having that stick-out (as it does in 2:50 and 6:23 draws too much attention from the otherwise polished look). Hope you don't mind this being pointed out :). Keep up the great work!

This came at exactly the right time, as I have just ordered a couple of Creed samples (Aventus, Green Irish Tweed & Millesime Imperial) - thanks to GG's earlier video about classic men's fragrances - and fell instantly in love with the GIT variant. Dear Gentleman’s Gazette, I am aware that this video is over 2 years old at this point and so I don’t expect a response but for anyone who comes across this video, perhaps there are some things about the house of Creed that people should be aware of I think. I’d advice anyone to read the book called ‘The Ghost Perfumer’ by Gabe Oppenheim. The book goes in depth on the, very much made-up, and borderline ridiculous claims the house of Creed makes about their history, bringing their authenticity and integrity very much into question. Furthermore, on the ethical side, many of Creed’s most famous perfumes (Green Irish Tweed, Original Santal, Silver Mountain Water and many more) were made by the perfumer Pierre Bourdon early on in his career. According to the book, where the author interviewed Mr Bourdon, he never got any credit for it and was never paid for the work he did for the house of Creed, contrary to what mr Creed promised him, among other things. I’m not asking for a total boycott of this house, but I would suggest, especially informed consumers like the Gentleman’s Gazette, to be informed about these things!
@GRice9994 жыл бұрын
I've purchased the 100 ml bottles of Aventus and GIT. They both went "bad" after a few years. GIT went sooner than Aventus. So, unless you are going to wear these fragrances every day, it really isn't cost effective to buy the 100 ml bottles or larger as the juice won't last long enough to use up the bottle. But these fragrances aren't really made for every day wear. They're more for special occasions. So go with the 50 ml is you want the Creed bottle, or buy a smaller size (or decant) from one of the places that repackage them. You'll save money in the long run.
@asif09054 жыл бұрын

Royal Oud is the only one that hasn't been cracked by clone companies. GIT is simple to replicate, same with Aventus because of synthetic ambergris.
@SG-wj2qj4 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think it’s the natural Cedar and Sandalwood oil. It’s quite apparent in the opening & drydown. Hard to replicate that sensual smooth sandalwood and cedar without the natural ingredients.
@ajwhitfield57934 жыл бұрын
@@SG-wj2qj absolutely. Royal Oud is one of my signature winter scents for years, so I've had experience across multiple batches from both Creed and clone houses. The clones NEVER get the blend of the Angelica root correct. RO is supposed to go from spicy (pink pepper corn) to vanilla spice citrus ( Angelica root, Calabrian lemon) to the final base of woods (Cedar, oud). That is why clone houses will attempt but never get the progression right. Hence zero chance of landing even close to a 50% comparison to the real RO.

Pierre Bourdon is the perfumer for Creed. Erwin doesn't blend the perfumes, he's comes up with the concept/brief and sends it in to the producer who employs Pierre Bourdon who actually makes/blends the perfume.

I personally love Creed's Silver Mountain Water (and yes I know this is very much a love it or hate it Cologne) BUT I have found some very good analogs of SMW so I usually wear those instead, the good ones are not all that much cheaper (still 60 to 70 percent cost per cc's) but the projection and longevity of the Creed original (and some of the analogs) is so strong that it is actually good value for money. However I've never found a suitable analog of Green Irish Tweed so every couple of years I'll grin and bear the the hip pocket hit and save it for special occasions. As such looking forward to the "alternatives" video

For example Aventus 100ml eau de parfum is £264. If I had that budget available I could alternatively opt for a pair of Grenson Derby handmade shoes for £265! For me that's no contest. Can't see the price to value argument in favour of such an expensive fragrance.
