GIT has been my signature scent since 2002. I tend to just use it for special occasions now, and Tres Nuit for everyday use. I'd say it's %95 similar as far as actual scent, but I'm seriously doubting it has any ambergris at the $30 it costs.

Very rarely is there an equally outstanding replacement for the real thing at a lower cost, but with that being said, has anyone tried the Alexandria or Dua GIT "inspirations"? I'm always rooting for the clone, even if I have the original! I won't have to use it up as fast!

Manly scent: Histoires de Parfums Marquis de Sade (1740). I've had girls say they hate it, and then have women pinching my backside. One night I had a woman come up to me saying "when you tire of the little girls come talk to a real women" while she was rubbing me up (not something I typically encounter) Definitely, my wild night scent.

Hi Dan have you ever put your nose on KITON MEN, Its another great fragrance that's very similar to green Irish tweed, Especially the opening, Also its very similar to Bond No 9 Chez bon. And the dry down is very similar to Creed Aventus , It sells for about £30.00 to £40.00, great performance to, high quality fragrance. very gentlemanly.

Love your reviews, Dan Smelly. You're classy, informative and quite entertaining. I turn to Patrick from Fragrances of Ireland as a cheaper, very close alternative to GIT. Available on eBay for around $40 for 100ml. For my most manly scents, I suggest R de Capucci, Lalique Equis, Chanel Antaeus and Egoiste, Dunhill for Men and Icon, Cartier Santos and Pasha, Quorum, Versace Man, Valentino Vendetta, and Bentley For Men Intense and Absolute. At least those I can vouch for from my own collection.

I have Alexander Fragrances’ “The Irish Gentlemen” and it captures 90% of the opening and near identical mid - drydown but lasts hours longer than the original from Creed. Wish I would have not purchased the Creed.

I got GIT and Tres nui. Both are 95% identical but tres nui is a little more sweeter and i really enjoy both. Such a nice classic green fragrance 😉

Really good breakdown! I grew up on Cool Water, still have 5-6 in my collection, original plus few "flankers" "summer editions". I smelt Green Irish Tweed via a sample and have Tres Nuit, but something to my nose just doesn't sit right with me, unlike most people. If I bought a bottle, I like the old school feel of the 75 ml bottle you have, even though the matte black finish of the new ones are "classically modern" I would say. I saw the 75 ml bottle on ebay for around $120, which I guess is not too bad for a Creed. The store I got my sample from has the 120 ml for $180.00, so even though I like the old school bottle, if I did buy a bottle, the bigger once seems more "bang for your buck". Excellent review as always sir!

Alot of people won't like where I'm taking this. I Love GIT alone and also everything it has done for the fragrance world. We wouldn't have alot of the scents today without it. I love alot of the clones too. But it's a very subtle calming smell. Not exciting to today's standard. The bottle is beautiful and screams high status and class. But if it didn't have the name creed or the price tag.... no one would be talking about it today JS. It's a really good signature, work, casual scent. Pay the big price and just wear it every day and trust me no one will complain and you only need 2 sprays and it lasts all day if people get close enough to you which is the whole point of GIT. Who would want to gas bomb an entire room and choke people out with the essence of the Irish countryside? But all I'm saying is there's nothing wrong with rocking the CLONES. Raghba for man is looking pretty sweet on my dresser and my woman loves it on me.

Nice informative review, I have GIT and Tres nuit and you got the differences spot on. Good masculine fragrances in my opinion Encre Noir, Eau Sauvage and Fahrenheit.

Your introduction was intriguing if only for the reason that German researchers have just published that lemon verbena is very effective in promoting recovery for bodybuilding /strength athletes! (see Journal of International Society of Sport Nutrition 2018, or see ergo-log website and search for lemon verbena) On a side note why is Dua frowned upon, but so many of the same people are bragging about there clones of Aventus, GIT, etc?

Armaf definitely do the best clones in my opinion and they are normally better then the original. You cannot go wrong with Rasasi there juice is always well blended and good quality

Some years ago I was complimented on the fragrance I was wearing --- by two lady assistants in the perfume shop at Heathrow Airport, London, England! I was wearing L'Eau D'Issey by Issey Miyake. These days I prefer CH Men and Bleu de Chanel. I have no intention of paying US$300 for Creed anything, thanks.

For me I would say Eucris is the most masculine of all time. Came before Quorum too both similar. Quorum is up there though. Honourable mentions Drakkar Noir, Aramis, Jacomo de Jacomo and Kouros for sure.

If you wanna get some really nice new watches for a good price check out the 5th watches they are really nice for the price the most expensive one I believe is $150 I have 2 and the quality is amazing quality. Everyone tells me they look like 3 or $400 watches. Mvt are nice for the price too if you aren't looking to invest a lot in watches it's defiantly a good place to start your collection.

BTW, saw your other review and I got the Pinaud Clubman After Shave Lotion, Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve Cologne and the Alvarez Gomez Agua de Colonia Concentrada. All low cost and smell very nice. MrSmelly1977, Give Le Labo's Iris 39 a try. I'm sure you'll like it. We have quite similar taste in fragrances. Last week I purchased 1725 and Sartorial based on your recommendation, albeit after sampling, but I absolutely loved them. Also, give Colonia Intensa a sniff if you haven't already. My favourite from Acqua di Parma.
