I am a huge fan of Green Irish Tweed, one of the signature fragrances of the all conquering House of Creed fragrance empire. But sadly at about £250 for a 100ml bottle it is a cologne I will only ever get to sample at the fragrance counter in my local high-end department store.
But, all is not lost, whilst researching the possibility of trying a clone of Green Irish Tweed I had the good fortune to come across the mighty Tres Nuit by Armaf, a fragrance house synonymous with the manufacture of well constructed clones of prestige colognes at a much more affordable price.
So, I speculated £20 and the result is contained in the video -

Finally ordered this, i've already tried their aventus clone, savauge clone and the savauge+green irish tweed clone but always been fan of the original GIT can't believe it took me this long to order and so many good reviews and most of their clones are 90% close which is very cheap

i freaking love this fragrance, its the best cheaper clone alternative of Creed G.I.T u only pay 1/10 out of Creed G.i.T. after smelling Creed G.I.T i quickly search for the the cheaper clone & thank god i found Armaf Tres Nuit.

I've moved over to Davidoff Cool Water for the summer, it smells extremely close to GIT, but has a slight hint of freshness that works so well in the warmer climate.

Great review 👍🏼. The way Armaf is going, Creed will have real problem soon. I am using their Club De Nuit Sillage, which literally performs and smells better than Creed Silver Mountain Water 🤷🏼‍♂️!

Is Club Nuit the Aventus inspired one? I bought Tres Nuit and Le Parfait recently to Try. The latter is a kind of cross between Aventus and GIT, although, I'd liken it a bit more to Mancera Cedrat Boise than Creed Aventus, but with a sandalwood, musk, and ambergris drydown - very pleasant, especially for the price.

Splurging on Floris fragrances is a bit easier than on Creed here in the US. Based on this review and one by The Fragrance Apprentice I blind bought this and was pleasantly surprised. It is a great scent and did not break the budget. Thanks for the video!

Hello Ash. I have a £35 tester pack from Creed, and its great 5 of their fragrances for the money and they last surprisingly well if used only for special occasions. I seem to have a feeling with Creed fragrances that they start off smelling great but after a short time they tend to change and I tend not to like them so much. It may be a skin compatibility thing I'm not sure but I have not experienced the same huge change with any other fragrance. Anyway keep up the great work. I love that you film your videos outdoors, it just adds a nice feel to the viewing experience.

I tried Armafs clone to Creeds Aventus and was really impressed. So much that I thought I would give Tres Nuit a go. On my first spray I was expecting some impression of Green Irish Tweed. Was shocked that I got not one single impression of GIW . What I did get in the opening was an overwhelming impression of Axe deodorant. It powdered down to Axe and as it is a smell I detest my bottle of Tres Nuit is going straight in to the trash! Great video! I cant help thinking they got the contents mixed up!

I have no idea how people say that Tres Nuit smell like GIT. It’s only a shell of GIT. 2/5 is my rating. I blind brought it because from hearing reviewer say that it’s the best clone. It’s not.

I tried a sample of this one and it immediately took me back 30+ years as it is a strong example of Davidoff Cool Water. The 90's teenager favorite! Each to their own!

Tres Nuit doesn't have that very noticeable aldehydic note of Cool Water, or Tobacco, excessive spice and florals or musk; it does have that green note slightly reminiscent of GIT though. Cool Water, on the othet hand, doesn't have Lemon Verbena or Iris. I get the slight similarity, but Tres Nuit is far more similar to GIT, than it is to Cool Water.

@@hugejobbie I'd be more inclined to say that CW in an aquatic aromatic fragrance inspired by Green Irish Tweed. However, Tres Nuit, I would say, is the true clone and cheaper version - I like TN as a spring time 'dumb reach' as they say - inoffensive and easy to wear.

There is an aftershave called Nevis sold by executive shaving that Dan (Mr Smelly) and a couple of others has called the closest to G I T he had smelled.. It is only £15.. Fine vid sir

Gucci Guilty Black is a much much better version of this type of fresh fougere barber shop scent. But I do like this fragrance a lot too, smells like Davidoff cool water which is a phenomenal iconic scent

GIT is my signature scent. Inoffensive, fresh, versatile. Work, gym, whatever. I wouldnt wear it for a night time date , dinner or party but its good enough for everything else. GIT has been nerfed down. At this point tres nuit is stronger. It lasts easily 6-8 hrs. Its so cheap just reapply or spray more. For the price its a no brainer. The opening is a bit synthetic but about 5 mins later its all good. The mid and drydown is about 95% GIT.

For me and what I love about fragrances is the history, the genuine article, the link to the past. The culture surrounding the original scents... for me it’s as much about the physical product nearly as much as the scent.. If I have (and have had) clones in my collection I am unfulfilled, the scent means nothing. It’s like having an album by a cover band instead of the original album.. why would you listen? Not a negative comment , just my take on it

I'm tempted to agree, I steer clear of replicas in general, but fragrances I'm less precious about, as the formulation of the originals change from batch to batch (famously with Creed) and in Tres Nuit, you get a fragrance that seeks to emulate the accords of GIT. Whilst it will never be the same as GIT, I find its a good representation.

I've only smelled it in the department store, but its a good one. Creed are simply too expensive for their products prestige level in my opinion. Try a clone/homage as a preliminary exercise (use Fragrantica website to see what is the best fit). Could save yourself a fortun.

Hi Ash, absolutely no need to justify why you haven’t bought „the original“. Creed is nothing else than a -sorry- sh*tty, overpriced marketing bubble! There is absolutely NO historical proof that Creed ever made perfumes before the re-birth of the brand in the 1970s!!! Additionally, most of their bestsellers were actuelly created by master perfumer Pierre Bourdon, who also created Davidoffs Cool Water, and not Olivier Creed! Take care, Dan.

I've also heard that the Creed origin story is disputed - they built up a legend from nothing and have profited heavily from their subterfuge. Much as I enjoy their GIT, I will never part with the money they ask to join their exclusive owners club, especially as their have a real heritage somewhat south of Mandate (my favourite cheap fragrance). Armaf fragrances are crap. There's an oil called champion black by Al rehab that's like g.i.t and Al sunnah do a good version aswell there only £3 . Don't waste money on sterling fragrances times are hard enough just now.
