@@calipop_9253 yeah, their first album was basically everything that the lead singer, Scott Stapp struggled with. Regardless, if you like this kind of music or not, sitting down and listening to all of the songs on their first album will give you chills.

I hear ya, but I feel this song is about searching or finding faith. He created his prison based on his sins and is guilt stricken and he's looking for God to forgive him. Great song and inspiring either way.

He is standing in front of God on Judgment day. He has run out of time to accept Christ. Demons cluttering around, his skin begins to burn. And he is hoping for Grace from the prison he created for himself. Very powerful. Especially the last emotional chorus, I created, I created my own prison. Just my thoughts on this. Great channel 👏

Great reaction. Big fan of Creed. Met them a few times when i was in high school. Found a trick at one of the places in Atlanta where they'd do concerts. Me and my friends would go there about 2 hours before the show and volunteer to be ushers. We'd show people where to sit and get to listen to awesome bands. Hang out back stage and meet the groups. Had some great memories. This is an awesome song. Glad you found it. Little surprised you haven't heard of them. They're from your neck of the woods.

I love Creed, Scott Stapp wrote this song after a dream he had, he woke up in a sweat, got up and went to his table and felt the need to write it down, then he when back to bed! Then the next day woke up looked at what he wrote, called Mark the next day to tell him he thought he had a song for them! Hope you do some more reaction to Creed songs, I love Say I, Unforgiven, What If and What This Life Is For, the last song was a friend who committed suicide that Scott and Mark both knew! There's way more, a lot of people in the comments have listed ones I would suggest to! Wrong Way is also great! I just saw Scott Stapp 3 days in a row in August 2018 and meet him all 3 time's! He's in recovery, healthy and happy! He and his wife Jacklyn had a new son November of last year, he has his life back! Doing his Creed and solo music and he was fantastic! He couldn't have been more gracious or down to earth to his fan's! Maybe you could do a couple of his solo music, I'd recommend Dying To Live, Slow Suicide or Crash!

Creed was big around the same time as nsync and backstreet boys etc. They later became Alter Bridge minus Scott Stapp (lead singer). He got into substance abuse amongst other thing. Also Mark Trimonte (guitar player), is recognized as one of the best guitar players of our day along with Alter Bridge's lead singer Myles Kennedy. They would be a great one to look into. Maybe..White Knuckles or Watch Over You by Alter Bridge?

It's like your stuck in your own mind. I went through that when my only sibling and younger brother passed from cancer. My whole life it was me and him. Us against the world. Now just me. Almost 3 yrs I cried. everyday. Now I see my brother in my youngest son. From the sleeping to bloody noses. He's just like him. My brother was supposed to name my youngest, but passed before we knew what we were having. So we named him after my brother. I just put him on bus to preschool.

Ty, you nailed it! As a victim of depression/panic/anxiety, it is a vicious cycle where the mind feeds on the negative to the point where the positive can no longer be seen. It's like digging yourself out of a deep, dark hole with a spoon. It's a long, hard road back, and it takes a lot of effort and support just to "break even", but it can be done. The brain, with help, can be retrained but it is so difficult some days. Worth the effort though when the day comes that you realize "hey, I'm having more good days than bad"... that's a great feeling, but it's so easy to slide back down and each time it gets harder to begin the climb again. But climb we must, or be lost forever. That's no way to live.

People interpret each song differently. For me, it's about living a life of sin and going to hell after death. I'll paste the lyrics below. Of course, it's all in how music speaks to each individual. The video actually cuts out a verse as you'll see below. A court is in session, a verdict is in No appeal on the docket today Just my own sin The walls are cold and pale The cage made of steel Screams fill the room Alone I drop and kneel Silence now the sound My breath the only motion around Demons cluttering around My face showing no emotion Shackled by my sentence Expecting no return Here there is no penance My skin begins to burn So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said oh) All held captive Out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one I hear a thunder in the distance See a vision of a cross I feel the pain that was given On that sad day of loss A lion roars in the darkness Only he holds the key A light to free me from my burden And grant me life eternally Should have been dead On a Sunday morning Banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time Should have been dead On a Sunday morning Banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said oh) All held captive Out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one I cry out to God Seeking only his decision Gabriel stands and confirms I've created my own prison I cry out to God Seeking only his decision Gabriel stands and confirms I've created my own prison So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said oh) All held captive Out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said oh) We're held captive (I created) Out from the sun (I created) A sun that shines on only some (I created) We the meek are all in one (I created my own prison) Should've been dead on a Sunday morning Banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time

The term "Christian band" historically refers to the band being signed to a known "Christian label". This did not necessarily always mean that the band members or lyrical content were necessarily Christian. In fact, many no-name bands in the 90's & early 2000's would claim to be "Christian" because it was a lot easier to get signed to labels like Tooth & Nail...particularly if the style of music entailed incoherent streaming and heavy riffs. The bottom line is that there were and still are Christian artists that choose not to throw it in your face or market their music only to folks who sit in the pews (see Chevelle, Blindside, Red, and NF for example).

Depression and feeling sad is simple. When you have depression it’s passive which means the feeling sad is a constant thing. It’s always lurking in your mind and mood. You can distract yourself for a little but or maybe even a whole day or so but it comes back and creeps up on you whenever in the night time or in the shower etc. it’s always in the background and it also gets in the way of your daily life. Lack of ambition lack of energy, suicidal thoughts. You constantly think bad about yourself and your overthinking of simple stuff that people usually might stress over but quickly overcome it. It stops you from going out from living from pursuing your career. rather then having a bad day because of a reasonable reason and quickly overcoming it and functioning life at ease for the majority of it. Too different things.
