Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
[x2]
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
[x2]
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding on to all I think is safe

My Dad used to put this song every morning when he drove me to school. He past away leaving me songs that are forever engraved in my mind and heart. Every time I hear this song, I remember those amazing mornings that you gave me. I miss you Dad.

My dad overdosed a few months ago. I miss his smile. His laugh. His presence. His voice. I saved the last voicemail he left me so I never forget it. 6 feet doesn’t sound to deep for me. I’ll be that much closer to him. Rip Travis Melton

I'd like to dedicate this song to my high school sweetheart who sadly took her own life earlier this year. Her and I used listen to this in Jr. high and were big fans of Creed. She left a loving family and 3 children. Kristy Quigley here's to you my love go be with God and rest in peace. I'll miss you forever until we meet again. I love you

I don't think people understand when someone's depressed or just plain upset, you could never know looking from the outside. And if you've never felt this way, you sure as hell are lucky. We're all just looking for someone or something to show that they understand and oh man this song works for me.

If anyone is listening to this to cope just know you are never alone and things get better. Darkness is only a shadow that Dawn's on you in the darkness. The universe only gives you pain your body and brain can handle. Even if it feels like you cant. We are coragous beings, humans, we have the ability to endure pain if all types and still smile another day. Never give in.

Its a rainy spring evening in 2007. Im sitting in my room doing homework with wet hair after a shower, a cool breeze coming in the cracked window, listening to the radio, thinking about practice, boys, smelling my moms bbq chicken in the oven, and this comes on. Life is good. ❤ intense nostalgia on this one ❤❤❤ it just sounds so good and hits all the right feels no matter what mood you are in. So much soul in it.

I ran circles in search of who I used to be, diagnosed mentally ill. The change was rapid I couldn't keep up with the world and reality around me. Living the rest of my life in this condition was more scary then death. Music was my medicine, it gave me the keys to unlocking tomorrow, or another day. This was one of em. 👍

This song taught me one of the deepest life lessons I will ever know. I was a young boy raised in a family with decent money and I was riding to baseball tourney with my coach and his son, and they were pretty poor. That day, with the help of this song, my coach and his son taught me a lesson that has stuck with me my whole life. No amount of money can pay for those little moments with loved ones, rich or poor, they chose to be happy and Jam this song even though they were going through tough times. Keep your heads up fellows, if you’re unhappy with you’re life, try looking at it in a different way.

It's funny, I remember getting Creed's greatest hits CD in 03-04. I still have the CD. Every song on it is very meaningful to me especially this one. I listened to it then and I still listen to it now. I listen to songs around those years. Today's music does not hit like the late 90s and early 00s do. My friends would always go why do I listen to stuff that is old? What is the problem with that? Creed has a special place in my heart, their music has some much powerful meaning. I fully have understood that meaning as time has went by. I will still listen to their music as long as possible. It is part of my life. God bless anybody who reads this comment.

I myself have had cancer colon and kidney triple open heart surgery and all before 50. I'm not sure why I am here typing this even. Married kids, grown men now. gotten divorced before 50 also ... I don't know the reasoning behind me being here still maybe as a punishment for losing my faith so long ago when my grandmother passed,? . I'm not really sure. I suppose I will never really truly know why. I am just. HERE. ✌️

Wow, this song is one of those things that you heard a lifetime ago...it’s memorable but not in the way I see it on this day when it hit me 20 years later. It’s been at a slow simmer in my brain and now with life’s experience it hits me loud and clear. I’m surprised people haven’t noticed what I take away from this song? This song is not a “sad song” at all. It’s a song that is cleansing to a horrible situation. “Maybe six feet ain’t so far down?” Anxiety, can be with you at almost every moment. That lyric, kinda convinces me that maybe my perception of a problem is the problem and not the problem itself. And maybe, this “problem” is actually a blessing in disguise that teaches me to have faith. Because you won’t see the “returns” of faith in yourself and the universe sometimes farther down the road...I think this is a song of hope. Not to minimize other people’s “takeaway” but I really think the writer is painting a “it’s not bad as it seems” picture? I think Scott has a lot of insight to self actualization. He touches on this in a similar way on the song, “my own prison.” He says “I’ve created” my own prison. Again, it’s a lesson of hope in the sense that we can conquer these “demons” by taking a step back and looking at things, difficult things in a different way. Maybe an opportunity to build your character in a way you never ever would have been able to on your own. The moon, stars, God, the universe, Alah, whatever your pleasure have different plans to take us to our “true potential” in ways we might not understand at the time, maybe not until much later, maybe not even in this lifetime? I really think this is a lesson of hope and faith. Idk, maybe I’m just a obliviously optimistic glass half full kind of guy lol. Just my humble opinion.

Has been a favorite since it 1st came out. Just heard it after not hearing it for many yes. Always remember its meaning to me at that time & how it saved me. Now at 64 I too see the same in this song as you have so articulately written. When young and defeated by the world I was lifted by this song and survived. Now with life threatening illness & my Dr's trying to tell me how few miles I have left its a blessing I heard it again. It still lifts me but has new meaning and hope for me. It has filled me with strength & hope to endure. Thks for your words

There's only one person in this world you can count on, one person to pull your ass out of the ashes, one person to stand your ass back up to fight again. Head up man, you can't replace a burnt out fire, you can't build a new fire that's exactly the same, but you can always remember it's warmth, and it's that warmth we miss when the cold creeps in, and sadly enough in this place building a new fire, would bring warmth but resentment follows in its wake, it will never be the same but please never let the cold win for the warmth will have no meaning left if that happens.

I'm so sorry to hear about that TImothy. I can't imagine what you're going through. I sincerely hope that during this time of tragedy that the memories you have with your son give you the strength to persevere. A deep purpose to continue to live each day to the fullest. And always feel comfortable sharing and reaching out for help!

I heard this in a bar at 12, It was so surreal seeing all the adults drink away the problems that troubled them, today I find strength knowing my courage can lift others to awaken their inner calling. Life was never meant to feel so sad! I love you all♡

My late husband and mother both passed away this year! But this song saved me in prison and has saved me now ! 18 years sober but at times I feel why bother now! Then I listen to Creed and it all makes sense! For those lost I can honestly say music saved me! Otherwise I would have died with my friends Layne and Mike!

I was born in 1990, this was the first rock group I had ever listened to thanks to my brother who is like 46 now. Man how the times change. The memories a song can take you back to (good or bad) is incredible.

I don’t usually listen to this type of music but I’ve been very depressed lately and feel so defeated by the world. And I am so tired of fighting every single day. For the past year now every day really has been a struggle. I was already crying listening to this song, but I started reading the comments and I wanted to say thank you to everyone who made a positive comment.

This year at the age of 20 and 3 months I lost my father who had only lived for 55 years. This song is the song he wanted at his funeral. I made a playlist of several of creeds songs. Because I wasn't for sure until today. He passed away march 9th at 8:37 am in the back of an ambulance. He had went blind and already lost his flavor for life. But he knew he would be going somewhere better. He passed away after telling us he was having a heart attack that morning. I argued with him as he was never keen on going to the hospital. I told him if my mom told him to go he needed to go and he responded with the last words I ever heard from him " be careful how you speak to me you might not have a daddy anymore after today" and I rolled my eyes and started the car. Not getting to say goodbye broke my heart and I won't forgive myself for it. But this song helps

I remember when I first used to listen to Creed many years ago. When I was younger I was pretty much into hip-hop, but I bought a couple of Creed CD's and never really listened to the lyrics until years later. I just knew I liked them for some reason. The same goes for Live when they released "The Distance to Here". I know I sound old now, but music was so much better years ago. This song (One Last Breath) is great.

Back in 2014/15 this song became our groups "troll" song. We would join each other's Xbox live parties with this song BLASTING, belting it out at the top of your lungs. Last year, our friend Eric was killed in a hit and run while on his bike. Dude left our friend lying in a ditch dying until his body was discovered 12 hours later by a passerby. I miss you Eric. I wish you could see the young man your son is becoming. You'd be so proud man. ❤️❤️
