In the late 60's we'd have parties where you moved all the furniture (except for the giant stereo) out to the back patio, remove the rug and dance for HOURS to CCR. It was epic! 👍❤🤙

Absolutely LOVED this one! My late father raised me on CCR on vinyl and 8 track. From their cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" to "Sweet Hitchhiker", every one their tracks holds a memory for me. If you want perhaps the most purely distilled example of CCR, try "Bad Moon Rising".

I Put A Spell on You/ SuzieQ/ Run Through The Jungle are three more great songs by CCR! My favorites are always Live performances because of the guitar & drum solos & duets! Long unedited videos are SO fantastic🔥☮️🇨🇦 ** Yes this is a good choice for funerals, my favs will be Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke & CCR what a party it will be … the best funeral song is SPIRIT IN THE SKY by Norman Greenbaum ⚰️⚱️🧨🤣🤣

No it was originally sung by Marvin Gaye. Gladys Knight and the Pips livened it up and made it popular so Marvin re-released it. Gladys version is wonderful too.
@richdiddens4059
@richdiddens4059 5 ай бұрын
@@paulapumphrey7857 It was written for Gladys Knight but was first recorded by The Miracles but not released for 2 years in October '68. Then Marvin Gaye recorded it but it wasn't released until August '68. Finally Gladys Knight recorded it and it was released in late '67. Her version became the best selling Motown recording. Then 8 or 9 months later Marvin Gaye's version exceeded hers. The first recording was the third released, the third recording was the first released, and the second was the second. The CCR version was 1970. Convoluted, I know.

Love your reactions, keep them coming! You chose wisely in reacting to the long version of Grapevine. The difference between the short single cuts and the long album cuts for CCR songs are the amazing instrumental jams and I have always thought they are the best parts of their songs. Try "Suzie Q" and "Proud Mary", both guaranteed to please.
