CREEK Fishing for AGGRESSIVE Rainbow & Brown TROUT

I went creek fishing for aggressive rainbow and brown trout! It was a perfect day for trout fishing! Overcast skies, high temp around 70 and it had just rained the night before. Water levels were up a little and the water was slightly stained. I caught some nice rainbow trout and brown trout! I also caught a lot of little trout which is a good sign that the creek is healthy and the trout are reproducing. I used a gold Fish Hawk spinner the entire day of trout fishing.

its hard to beat spinner fishing in streams for trout. there are a lot of good ones on the market but I've been a Panther Martin guy since I was a kid. I tend to fish them quartering upstream and across, he had a lot of success straight upstream

Let your go-pro dry out for a few weeks, put it on a rad or something where it will get a lot of air blowing in and around it and shake water out of it. I left my Sony MP3 player outside in the pouring rain and did what I said and when it was dry, I charged it up and it still works today. Nice trout and video.

I’ve noticed that rainbows tend to be the ones that jump when hooked, and browns like to dive or dart. I thought it was hung on a rock a few days ago and it was a big brown diving (making me think he was actually bigger - like you in this video towards the end). I guess it’s their natural reaction.

Thanks man! I will try. You just lay the spool down on the floor and reel the line off it. If your spinning reel spins clockwise, the line needs to come off the spool counter-clockwise.

Another great day! Awesome catches! My reel rats nested hard this morning, even with the barrel swivel, just as the bite took off. Do you ever carry a spare reel in your pack? I think I might start, it was a bummer to bounce as the fish started poppin’ off lol.

I normally keep an extra spool of line with me just in case. What kind of line are you using?

@@FishHawk 6 pound p-line flouro, same one you use. I put it on with a Berkeley spooler, the kind that fits on your rod, maybe I’m putting on too tight or loose?

@@scottbeauchamp5488 I think you might be lining your reel incorrectly. If you're spooling a spinning reel, you lay the spool of line on the floor. The line should come off the spool in a clockwise direction (if your spinning reel spins clockwise) Most spinning reels do rotate clockwise, so the line coming off the spool of line should come off clockwise. Hope that helps! I haven't had any issues with birds nests
