Fishing creeks for crappie is one of my favorite ways to catch SLABS! Long Rods or tight-lining are the best way to get to these fish in heavy cover!

I just use a cane pole with 9 foot of spiderwire on it.

That works too. Honestly it would probably be easier that way. Don’t need a fancy reel with as much line as we have on there. Although we do troll with these rods sometimes as well.
