I love these small creek videos ! They are great. I live and fish in Florida, so most of my fishing is salt water. I do fish rivers and other fresh water,but it's big water. Born in WV. I fished many small creeks and rivers. Wow ! What a blast. Nothing beats clear water creeks and streams. So many different fish too catch. Way to go mate. Bloody-well good. Tom DB,FL.

Nice fish, might have been tempted to keep that last cat. Good video, Fishhawk. No matter where you are, when you're by a river there is beauty all around. I'd recommend some slow mo scans just rotating on your tripod. Check different angles a bit, water level up high, whatever. Just take time to find the reasons we all fish, besides catching fish. I told someone on a fishing forum, I'd rather wade a trout stream or any cold clear stream and get skunked than have a great day on a lake. Of course, I love perch, bluegill and walleye to eat. So I will suffer fishing on a lake for the harvest. Ok, here's the ugly. When you go to set the hook and you hear your drag start letting go during the hookset, you've lost hooking power. Turn your drag up, it puts more force into the hookset, pushing that hook in farther into the fish. You won't lose a fish/snap the line, on the hookset w your drag set at full. I fish 10 lb mono for steelhead and have never had a fish snap my line and my drag has never went off during a hookset. Idk, maybe you're trying to add drama to it. Everytime you go to set the hook and I hear your drag go off I just shake my head, then you lose it and I'm like, yep.
@FishHawk5 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate the feedback. I will tighten my drag and try that. Then I loosen it during the fight if it's a bigger fish. Not trying to add drama. Just trying not to break my line in case I hook a big fish.

not trying to preach anything to you or anything like that you're awesome great fisherman love your videos I'm a subscriber but I wanted to give you a tip I learned on bass tournaments when you set the hook keep the tip of your rod at least 2 inch below the surface of the water so when he jumps and shakes his head he want spit it you can jerk him right back in the water with the tip of your rod 2 inches below the surface to keep the tension on the hook as well

Always glad to see a man with a St. Croix - I may have clicked on another video otherwise, lol. From just south of there in WI (Sunfish capital - La Crosse/Onalaska) I love doing these types of creek fishes but the people I go fishing with are older/disabled most of the time so it really limits where I can go. Cool video. Glad to see ethical fisherman, but I have to tell you - a bass is a sunfish and you could probably throw it at the water as hard as you could with no damage to the fish, lol - not that I would advise that.

I’ve fished a set of two tunnels side by side they were long and dark . We needed a small boat and we should of had lights . But we didn’t have head lamps back in the 60’s I don’t remember what we caught . But I remember it was productive and fun . The tunnels were long enough that there was very little light from either end. I’d like to go back with my son but it’s a different state now so we would have to get non resident licenses and we we have to take my inflatable boat . And would need permission from land owner to access tunnels from upstream . Back then my friend lived there it was no problem
