You have amazing drive and energy John. I am in awe of your positive attitude and willingness to try to fish in any body of water you can find. You are an inspiration to folks who don’t have a boat and don’t want to deal with all the challenges involved with boat ownership. I have one that I barely use!!! Anyway, the Holy Spirit is definitely working in and through you my brother. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures. We are practically neighbors as I live in Georgetown. 😎

I thought I was the only one who would fish in the most redicoulously small sized holes where no one would even remotely consider fishing, and almost appear as a goofball from passers by, people wizzing by in their cars, people gawking at you out of a bedroom apartment window, underneath a highway overpass, getting almost tore up climbing down dangerous bolder embankments, dirt hills, etc. I did all that stuff all over Pennsylvania and Virginia in the 2,000's in my 40's. I have caught some surprising fish though, sometimes in only inches of water including a trophy sized Brown trout, a small chain Pickerel (a real rare treat for me) a HUGE Smallmouth, oodles of Blugills almost every where, a Rainbow here and there, a Speckled trout, somewhat rare? All I ever use is 6 pound test line, ALL on Rooster tail spinners. ALL on a red, white, or a yellow body, ALL with the silver blade only. Talk about a narrow variety of lures and line. Now out here in the Phoenix area waterway areas all you see are those trash fish Grass carp and they're ugly, and they get huge. Haven't fished in years. Have to drive up to the local lakes out here to catch any 'real' fish. Robert at 68.

Great stuff as always, John! This is exactly what fascinated me about your videos, because I had been doing the map search online and finding tiny creeks for years up here in PA! Several people walk by and see me with my ultralite pole and wonder why I am fishing a small drainage ditch, and then I pull up a 2-3" bluegill or creek chub and show them the answer! BTW, up in Dayton on the east side of the main highway is a similar tiny ditch that I fished two years ago that was small just like the opening of this video..Had a blast pulling tiny fish out of a few inches of water all along it while people scratched their heads looking at me! :-) Its all good, brother!

When I was little, we lived in Arkansas and I used to go with my Dad flyfishing for panfish. Some of the water he fished was so skinny, there was no hope of ever casting a fly...he'd position the fly on a piece of bark, or a leaf...float it downstream, then pull it off its' "raft", and work it back. I remember him catching a ton of fish, that way! Stay Safe!

We have a lot in common. I spend a lot of my time off fishing small streams/creeks all across NW Georgia and Chattanooga. I fish on average 5 - 6 days a week. I get down into ditches, cut paths through briars, fight off spiders and snakes....but I fish a lot of creeks that haven't seen another fisherman and are literally loaded with quality sunfish and small creek bass. We kind of did things opposite of each other, I don't produce videos for the internet but I fished for a living when I was younger and eventually started practicing medicine but I'm hopefully getting close to where I can retire and possibly open a charter business inshore and offshore fishing in Florida. Working as a deckhand for the Southern California sportfishing fleet as a teenager was the best job I ever had and if I was able to make a living, I would still be doing it. Definitely enjoy the videos. We fish a lot of the same streams and I frequently recognize fishing holes and spots on some of the streams that you fish and its cool to have caught a fish in the exact same spots as someone else. I only use barbless hooks when fishing these small creeks and streams and I release 100% of what I catch back for the next fisherman to possibly enjoy in the future.

Back in the day (more than half a century ago) I used the county soils survey book where the various types of soils were marked out on black and white aerial photos. Find a dull, dark gray patch with one straight edge. The straight edge is the dam, the dark gray is a reservoir.
