This is one of my all time favorite CFA videos. You can feel the excitement John is experiencing while fishing from the kayak. I can just about guess that "this is what kayak fishing is supposed to be" is running through his head over and over. Hopefully by this early winter or next my son and I will get to have an everglades adventure like yours.

Hey buddy, just wanted to let you know that you might want to be a little bit more careful, those large mouth bass , lately have for some reason been eating quite a few baby poisonous snakes , specifically copperheads, one of my friends recently almost got bit by a baby copperhead, because my friend was picking the bass up by the front of the mouth and the snake try to strike at him, it as still alive, just the head was showing out of the throat,I guess you would say, Please BE careful, CYA on the next video 😷🤑✌️ PEACE 😎💯

Running me down memory lane brother. I had my FL trip ticket punched twice. Once for my 30th birthday and my brother took me to the big O to fish topwater with the legendary Sam Griffin. There's a reason Rolland Martin called him the best topwater fisherman he knew. And he took us on a tour of the shop, Oct 2001. The gators kept us from fishing the canal behind the motel though, too many and too active. Glad you did it safely John. Blessings brother

I lived on a canal/retention pond in S.FL, got spoiled as hell, guaranteed to catch fish every day, Cichlids, snake head, peacock bass, large mouth bass, pan fish, catfish, rare tropical fish...it was like a Disney movie!
@BooneDownSouth3 жыл бұрын
Another great video. I grew up in Florida and for the 30 years I lived there I always lived on the water, two different canals similar to what you fished and then a private pond. That is the main thing I miss about FL - the bass fishing is amazing down there. You definitely have to watch out in those weeds. 9 out of 10 times you see a dark snake in that area its gonna be a moccasin. Next time trying moving up in bait size to trigger the larger bass cause there are plenty of them down there. If you really want to nail a giant, while you are fishing down one of those canals, troll an 8 inch shiner behind you. Good luck in the Everglades man!
