9:15, “Well, I got a couple of fish. I would say I had a rough week, but I don’t want to compare to having a rough week with what I do to someone working like three jobs and trying to feeding a family.” Perspective and compassion. John, you set a great example.

Appreciate your honesty when it's not a banner trip or trips. I always enjoy the therapy of shopping for gifts for others and maybe accidentally finding something I like. Try to limit that around Christmas to something nobody would pick for me because well I'm "particular" about gear. Keep putting in the work and enjoy yourself brother. God never wasted an opportunity we just need to show up sometimes.

I’m in NW Montana along the Clark Fork river. They have hydro power dams here and have dropped the river about 10 feet. The weather has turned cold, the high for the next few weeks is only 44. We have trout, pike, large mouth, small mouth, yellow perch, redear sunfish, catfish, and walleye and I can’t catch anything lately. Can’t really take the boat out now because they pulled in all the docks at the boat ramps and the level along the shore is so low. I’m going to have to use my kayak when my husband’s new raft gets here next week and see what we can do.

Just keep fishing. It never guaranteed, fish will be caught. But just have fun doing it. You know the way you do. As far the basketball goes, take the entire team fishing. Show the way, combine the two and they will be ready to win on the court. Nice goodies. By the way if you enjoy looking at the night sky. Those tubes they send the rods in, are the perfect diameter for making home made telescopes.

I feel for ya....I just got back from the Smokies, fly fishing, and the action was slow to say the least. I had to really work just to catch dinks - I only caught one decent brook trout. I think the fish were a bit unsettled; I heard that fall came a little late this year, and when it did, it was a sudden cool-off. I fished several streams, and the water temp was right around 50F, which is sort of the "magic number" for trout to start to get active. Anyway, I was mostly getting young-of-the-year fish.

Two piece rods. I replaced all mine with one piece rods. Over a dozen spinning rods this fishing season.
@ronaldshank75893 жыл бұрын
If I could, I'd go with one-piece rods myself. The only thing is, I use Shakespeare Uglystik Rods, and I'd have to check to see if they make a one-piece medium rod. I'm very partial to Shakespeare Uglystik Rods. They're some of the best in the business, as far as I'm concerned. I don't use anything else. I see your point, though. Seems like a lot of fishing rods can break right in the middle on a two-piece rod. I haven't had that happen yet with my current setup, but I'm not taking any chances.
@christopherwood22903 жыл бұрын
@@ronaldshank7589 I actually have four Ugly Sticks from the era of about 1983 to 1985. In some ways they are much higher build quality compared to the higher end rods made in China today.
@ronaldshank75893 жыл бұрын
@@christopherwood2290 Man... Ol' Uglystiks. You can't hardly get those rods to break. As far as I'm concerned, I won't fish with any other kind of rod. Shakespeare Uglystik Rods RULE, in my opinion! By the way-Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! God bless!

This bothered me, especially as John emphasizes his "Christian" values all over these videos. John, why wouldn't you humanely kill that little fish before cutting it in half? All it would have taken is a sharp bonk to the head, as all anglers know. Disappointing.
