I use bluegills and huge chub minnows up here in Green Bay WI to fish for pike and muskie. I blow up kids baloons from walmart a liitle bigger than a gulf ball ,tie the end then tie it around my line. I use big circle hooks and no weights. The baloon is so lite it dosent wear out your bait , and you can keep control of the bait. They like to swim into snags freelining them. Give it a try , its a blast when the bait freaks out when large fish are stalking them. Good video

I've done that sort of thing before. Started with crickets to fish for small brim or fingerling Bass. Put the small fish on a hook to catch a bigger Bass. A suburban creek in North Alabama.

Good, fun video bro. I live in central Florida and the canals aren't as bass-heavy as the glades. The water isn't oxygenated enough. You found some good spots for an out-of-stater!

That's one thing I'll miss about moving out of Florida and going back up to WV. Bass here are just huge. My PB is a little over 8lbs(~25in) in a detention pond around a 2 minute walk from my house. An absolute lot monster. I know I've even hooked bigger fish that got away, too. On the plus side, creek fishing will be back on the menu in those lovely mountains. Miss me on that down in Florida with the critters we have floatin' around in the water.

Wow, John! At 2:54 on the left side there is a really cool, black & white striped fish that would have been cool if you caught! Wonder what that is? BUT, I can't believe several times starting at 6:31 that you reached down in front of that culvert opening to grab the bass! What if there was a hungry gator in there??!! Your Florida videos are the only ones that make me nervous! (even tho you obviously survived OK! :-)

Great video. I’m pretty sure the mystery fish is a Redfin pike (pickerel). Color looks a little different than what I’m used to but likely the tanic stain water. I catch a lot in south Georgia creeks with a red rooster tail. They are delicious to eat. Gut and fry whole!

I'm surprised you didn't get a snook. You see more of them a little closer to HW41. I fished there about 6 weeks ago...because it was too wet to get to the peacock hole. We had a wet winter and things are just now drying back enough to get to the good spots.

I have loved these Florida fishing videos. I’m in northern Ga. They call the beginning of the blue ridge mountains which I love far more than the flat lands of Florida. I have enjoyed these to the point of taking to the little woman about us doing something like this in the future. Main problem is she isn’t about to stay in a tent that doesn’t have a fully functional bathroom and a comfortable bed so that only leaves one alternative which would be motels. Have you seen the prices that is going for a clean not necessarily expensive motel room for an evening. We are on a fixed income so to do this it would need to be reasonable priced. As always enjoyed and love your bible verses at the end. Be careful, always CC when fishing alone. David Waleska Ga.

We live-line big stripers in the salt, using large menhaden (bunker). A conventional reel, unlocked with the clicker on, lets them eat it, before setting the hook. A Shimano Baitrunner spinning reel also works well for this, as it can be fished unlocked with a separate drag. Flip the lever when ready, and hook 'em up.
