I have some STRANGELY DENSE THOUGHTS on this song and I think I can finally put them together? MOSTLY this song is a bop. It's VERY fun to listen to (ladadeladado yayyyy) and that's what made me listen to it a lot though. The lyrics are very thought provoking though and would always have me stop and go "??" at them. This is my own takaway and may or may not be intended but this is just how it makes me feel whatever I'm currently living in a crisis. I'm not homeless, but I know several people close to me that are/have been, and I'm not doing well finacially myself. I am increasingly upset about how much better the world could be if it weren't for rich people taking everything from us. The girl in the song just wants to be herself, "wear makeup", she's a totally normal person and is forced into this terrible situation by the world. The sounds in this song are very enhanced and electronic and unnatural, and the song FEELS very modern to me. Having this electronically created modern bop of a song that sounds really fun along with talking about this poor girl gives me really evocative imagery of the modern world. Even in this fun, advanced landscape, people are homeless.
