Yeah, I miss those times I could enjoy activities with my colleagues without that damn social media, everyone is bragging about what they're doing on social media. Now my face is on the internet instead of only precious people seeing it in a photo book. Everyone in my country is addicted to Facebook. Every time I go to a restaurant, everyone takes a picture before eating. There's no problem capturing the moments. But after that, you'll see that they are only taking pictures of them in a restaurant because they want to show their lives is better or they can afford to eat outside, instead of saving the moment and storing it in a physical photo book.

I created my FB account in 2008 or something and I left it in 2016. All those years i was desperately looking for real life experience in that virtual world... But nothing worked. I was sad about my lonely life... as you said i was so obsessed with taking photos(not only mine, but beautiful nature pictures) and sharing with others. I couldn't think of a day without logging into FB at that time. But by 2016 i lost almost all the interest in social media and left FB and Whatsapp. Now it has been 6 years without FB. The best thing happened in my life is i met my partner in real life and got married and now i'm 8 months pregnant and waiting for my baby. Now i don't take much pictures...and even if i take i don't bother about sharing with anyone. I'm content with myself and my surroundings.

same here. When Blackberries and iphone 3G were a thing. Hell, I even had facebook on that Nokia with the keyboard that slides horizontally and had a "pen". I too left in 2016, still used instagram but eventually retreated my social media presence and kept a regular burner anonymous account for my hobbies. I know no one from the internet, which defeats the purpose of *social media* entirely. Reddit or comment sections like these are the only places where I still find "normal" folks. Everything else is either bot, asinine takes from asinine people, and abhorrent mentalities of degenerates who were given a voice via the internet, but have no business ever being heard. And even here, sometimes a creep will say something out of line or a troll comes out and it puts everything back into perspective like... the internet is really not a fun place no more, they *cultivate* these spaces for such people, because really its all for a click and a view or data farming for them, and we caught on to it years ago.
