Absolutely. The worst part of Shannon's "response" was she claiming that Emily lied about her abuses because no one gets to be abused by so many people when in reality someone who has mental issues or drug problems are more likely to be abused and manipulated and usually are in a cicle of abuse with different people.

Exactly. Once you've been victimised once you are statistically so much more likely to fall into more abusive relationships because these abusers seek this out. It's like they know who to go for. People wouldn't believe me of I told them how many times I'd been victimised by various people in my almost 30 years. But it's true. Once it happens once you're unfortunately at risk for life.
@TheNicolevertone Жыл бұрын
I want to say this carefully, because I genuinely do NOT mean it as victim blaming, but if you are used to cycles of abuse, you are prone to fall into them and accept them because they are familiar. There is a sick comfort in the familiar being less frightening than what you don't know. You have been conditioned to believe you don't deserve better. It takes a lot to mentally break away from that cycle mentally and physically, and it is so easy to fall back into it.

Love your channel and your content! I always get nervous seeing creepshow stuff pop up on m feed but I am so glad I watched this. You did a really great job. This was a thorough and well researched recounting! One thing that I find myself having to correct a lot is that Anthony did NOT know where I worked (around 1:35:00) He knew the *type* of restaurant I worked at (I told him “I’m still working at that sushi place” but purposefully kept it vague to avoid a digital trace of my workplace), but I never publicly shared my exact place of work nor did I share it with him. Because of this, I believe he impersonated another friend and posted the question, “Does anyone know any good sushi places in (where I lived at the time)?” In order to find the exact location by using the details he had at the time. This is, unfortunately, a good example of Shannon filling in some blanks with blatant lies as well as slightly twisting my words so it seems perfectly believable that she may have a “point” here and this is just me being hyper paranoid. This also happened when she tried to claim the snapchat stories were just an ARG. If you read through the snapchat messages, the other party not only refers to very specific and personal things about me in ADDITION to the ARG a elements, but they also reference being too young to drive so their parents drove them to my city… those Snapchats were sent around the same time I received the Britta Filter messages. It’s just all such a weird coincidence, I personally believe that WAS Shanthony and they were just using that ARG as a vehicle and cover for harassment.

But the likelihood of them being charged with this is slim to none. Perhaps if it had been brought to prosecutor/LE attention back when it was ongoing, but even then it might be more of a harassment/revenge porn deal I say this because an extended relative of mine was arrested and eventually plead guilty to making CP with teens. And even that entailed a multi month police investigation and there were several victims who were still underage at the time of the investigation

Lolcow wasn't mainstream knowledge, half the youtubers she gossiped about didn't know it existed. But she panicked and announced it to EVERYONE who followed her.

The thing a lot of people forget is Shannon’s content was going downhill before the controversy. I found Shannon when I was in a though situation and looking up videos on how to safely be homeless and I was a pretty loyal viewer after that but her videos became more repetitive and rambling and when she talked about subjects I actually know about I realised she was missing major details and barely researching. So I had stopped watching months before the controversy.

Yasss! Agree, I noticed that too. Around february 2021 her content was shorter and mostly 80% of every video she was going on and on about unrelated things to the title, and then at the end gave 1 minute of actual topic and content 😂 rubbed me the wrong way. I knew about everything but the Jaclyn Hill's situation and, as someone who cut all contact with my parents, it's disgusting. You don't choose who gave birth to you or participated, you are not responsible for your parents' actions. I cannot imagine the anger and pain Jaclyn must have feel seeing someone associating her and her estranged cult leader father in a video. I would be so pissed if I was associated to my parents' actions, I didn't have them out of my life for someone on the internet to associate us. There are multiple children of criminals and cults leader out there that already live with the guilt of their parents' crimes (thinking about Jim Jones' sons, for example) He's her bio-father, but he is out of her life and nobody should try to put him back in it , but Shanon didn't care, because she knew by saying Jaclyn name she was going to get more views than if she only talked about a random cult leader.

Yeah. And I don't think Shannon harassed Emily because she thought Emily was a bad person (due to brainwashing by Anthony). Shannon harassed Emily because of jealousy. Emily dumped Anthony. Anthony didn't want the relationship to end. Shannon later dated Anthony, learned about the super beautiful, fit, and outrageously talented Emily.... and of course... in Scorpio fashion, stalked the hell out of Emily to learn literally everything about her... out of jealous curiosity. Seeing how much better Emily was than Shannon in every possible way.... Shannon's jealousy grew to straight up hateful envy. And so she tormented her. Anthony is also an asshole, though. They tormented her together.

I liked her, but I really only watched her content about people who I already knew were bad people, like Onision. So the attitude didn't bother me since it felt deserved. I also worked in a restaurant, and language like her's was pretty common to me-so I never had and reservations or thought lesser of her just because she was condescending towards obviously crappy people. I rarely watched anything from her where I didn't have tea from another source first, but I did watch the one about Peaches and it had me feeling sus about her. After that I started to pull away from her content since I didn't feel like she was acting in good faith. Hearing how she talked about people like Jacklyn Hill and others is shocking though. It's one thing to be rude to vile people like Onision, and it's another to make that comment about Jacklyn's cult-leader dad and all the other things she was bringing up about many other people.

I agree. The first time I heard about her was through the 'Zeefixesart' situation where one of her art (which was a fanart she made for her fan) was 'fixed' horrendously. I was watching someone else's commentary video that time and they had Shannon's opinion about this whole fiasco, which to be honest, I thought that she's a good person. The way she responded was very mature. I felt bad for her so I decided to check her channel out and maybe subscribe to her to give support. And yeah, I didn't like what I see and heard. Like what you say, her tone was very condescending and sounded quite aggressive towards the person/topic she's talking about, it really gave me a mean girl vibe so in the end I did not subscribe to her.
@tomato54992 жыл бұрын
I used to listen to her in the background of doing a task. When I actually listened to what she said, it most came off as a white savior who spoke in the place of the minorities she was talking about. I just brushed it off mostly, cause I didn't actually pay much attention to it. Though, I stopped watching her when she called out an artist for drawing minors sexually, but put their name in the description. She said it was to "report them and not send harassment", knowing that people would harass the artist and simultaneously give that art more exposure when she thought it was terrible. It really showed her true colors, that she doesn't care for those issues, and more of so just wants a reason to be upset. Like Emily mentioned, Shannon wasn't upset at Emilys horrible actions, she just wanted to pull Emily down.

Maybe I've just known too many people like her but it was clear she was the type of person to shit talk people while claiming the moral high ground. I remember the day I stoped trusting CSA, and the day I realized that she was more dangerous than a ally It was one of the videos where she would accuse a artist to be R*cist or a Pred*tor. I believe it was the video of a girl that made goth and Lolita style art, tackling DA and SA. I remember she saying she was romanticizing and glorifying ab*se. I look for the artist, saw their work and I instantly realized that it wasn't romantization. It broke me, because it was clear she did no research, and created a whole narrative that putted that very young artist in a negative light, and exposed her to a group that would attack them. It wasn't a mistake, because she never apologized or told her audience to not attack the artist. It was pure malice. From that day forward, I noticed her little slips, and it hurt people supported her, and I would pray for her to stop bringing pain to other like she did. The hopeless peaches drama broke, and her video was proof I should support peaches. The day Shannon was exposed, and the day she lost her career was a relief. You pointing out how the video seems more about Anthony clearing his name instead of Shannon makes so much sense. I didn't even think about that. This just goes to show how manipulated Shannon is (Not that she isn't guilty) I believe he egged her on and encouraged her to keep going out of his obsession with Emily. It's like Shannon did these things out of a need to please Anthony and prove herself to him.. And to top it off her insecurites helped alot. I think deep down shannon know it was always going to be Emily, and Anthony strikes me as someone who made Shannon feel she had to compete. Textbook Narcissist (although Shannon could be one too) and in her twisted mind she wanted to become Emily to the point where she realized she couldn't which ignited a flame to destroy her. So much resentment toward Emily by both of them, but for different reasons. Anthony's resentment from the fact that she was too good for him, saw through his b.s and moved on. Shannon's resentment stems from the fact that she isn't who Anthony really wanted. This is some sick lifetime movie type shit.

Former Shannon fan here, and there’s absolutely no overstating how much we, as her fanbase, trusted her at the very least to be a considerate and progressive person. The reason I gravitated towards her channel, even when she shifted to a new style of drama content, was because she was very casual with her viewers, like we were listening to a friend talk about some drama they’d experienced recently. She made it a point to be inclusive of all identities and that’s why I felt safe and believed the initial hacker story, hook line and sinker. Then it comes out that she’s been saying all this bigoted bs, using slurs she has no right to reclaim, and just in general being the absolute definition of a high school bully. Her last hurrah before she released the “comeback” to Emily was a video talking about the history of pride AFTER she’d been found out, like some sort of last ditch effort to prove that she cared about marginalized communities. It was all very insulting and horrible to watch in real time, you really had to be there to get the full scope of this mass betrayal and sudden shift of public opinion. Nowhere near what Emily went through, I know, but still worth mentioning how good she was at getting people to believe her lies and buy her fabricated persona as reality.

You're such a bada$$ for kicking that mean little addict monster in the face! If anyone were to bring up your past they're just stupid. First of all: the reason someone starts using isn't because they're a sh*tty person, it's because there's some sh*t in their life, that makes them feel sh*tty. I was an addict for almost 10 years and I never met another addict who didn't have a story to tell. Secondly: addicts do stupid sh*t. Not the person who's addicted, but the addict. Thirdly: it doesn't matter what you did, it matters what you do. And what you're doing is being a total rockstar for choosing to be present in your own life and battle hardships without the "help" of substances. That's what matters.

@@cruelworldhappymind I think social media (including KZbin) makes it very easy for people to show only one side (or just certain parts) of themselves - we see only what they want us to see. (This happens in real life too, but it’s a bit more difficult to hide who you are when you’re interacting with people face-to-face, on a regular basis). There is nothing inherently wrong with people deciding what they want and don’t want to share with or show the public at large. The problem comes in when people believe this social persona they see and know actually IS one and the same as the person/creator. It’s not. People following, watching or working with other people and creators need to understand this, and maintain a safe and reasonable distance, internally and externally. You have to protect yourself. I’m not sure if this would have helped Emily- but we all need to be aware and understand that what we see may not be what we get. It’s sad, but it is the reality. Thanks for the great video Madison, and sorry for the essay!

I'm not gunna shit on you for being a fan even though I vehemently do NOT share that opinion, but I will point out that it doesn't matter how much you like someone; they can still fuck up and do horrible things and people making videos on her about this is entirely fair. People are going to want to know what happened. Maybe you should reflect on the reasons why you hate videos on this situation. Why is it? Do you think the people you are fans of are above criticisms and mistakes? Do you just miss Creepshow? Do you see yourself in her and it feels personal? Are you sad things blew up the way they did? Are you sad that the idealized image of Shannon that she presented was shattered? I don't actually want you to explain yourself to me, btw, you do not need to or owe me any answers. I just think you should ask yourself why you feel that way maybe because this situation is the exact kind of situation Creepshow Art herself would make videos on when it was about other people. I come back to these videos covering this situation from time to time, and it still blows my mind how hard Shannon tried, and failed spectacularly, to become Emily. Emily has an art based KZbin channel- Shannon creates an art based KZbin channel. Emily uploads videos showing her drawing/sketching while telling stories- Shannon starts making videos where she’s drawing/sketching while telling stories. Emily has a stalker- Shannon ends up with a stalker. Emily is able to use I.P. addresses to her advantage when dealing with her stalker- Shannon tries to use I.P. addresses to…oh, well shit…Shannon ends up outing herself with the I.P. address b.s. Obviously Shannon wasn’t bright enough to get away with the lies. Perhaps she was jealous of the “hold” that Emily had on Anthony. So she thought that if she made herself into Emily, Anthony would shift his attention to her rather than Emily. Whatever the reason, Shannon was doing everything in her power to turn herself into Emily. But Emily was a much better human being overall and that just wasn’t something Shannon could mimic.

The whole Hopeless Peaches thing is proof of the stigma and misunderstanding when it comes to mental illness. I’m not sure what condition she has, but emotional states can be very volatile and change drastically over hours, days, months and years. Being suicidal isn’t always a constant state. I’ve experienced it myself many times. You’re coping with life and then suddenly go off the deep end, only to quickly gain control again. CSA always claimed to be a mental health ally, yet accuses someone of baiting when she knew absolutely nothing. I’ve worked in mental health, regardless if someone is serious or ‘doing it for attention’ aka screaming for help, it should be taken seriously. But CSA has ZERO evidence that it was the latter anyway. Hopeless Peaches went through hell because of CSA, whilst struggling to cope with a current condition. I stopped watching CSA during that time. I have a dozen other criticisms of CSA, but that took the cake.

Tbh I had someone do the exact same thing to me just in real life. Sadly people like this exist more than many people realise. They emailed me for the first time in 5 years (they made a new email cause I had them blocked). I thought I has moved past it and then when I read it at 2am I was violently shaking and couldn’t stop sobbing. The ptsd behind it. She lied to my work, she lied to all of the little businesses in my area who I worked with and where I went every day. Most people ended up not believing her but she lost my my dream job I had worked for so long to get. She also plagiarised my writing and published it themselves and sold zines of it. It was honestly so insane watching it all go downs. The girl stalked me for 8 years or so. She even forced her way into my mothers hospital room on the night she died. She just wouldn’t allow me to be free of her. I got so lost in the abuse (I once crawled behind a fridge as a grown adult just to try to get away from her berating me and staring it was my fault my mother was dying of cancer. In the email I got she fake apologised in which she explained how I infuriated her. She just sent me a fake apology after all these years to try to make me feel bad. Whenever someone follows me on Instagram I have built up a way to check it wasn’t linked to her. I hadn’t realised how much I had been hiding from her since this happened. The level that this takes over your life, my mind and body broke. I went into hospital. I had a stroke due to stress. So much of my life has been utterly torn to shreds by her. She is infamous in my city now for doing this to other people but I was her longest target. The number of stories I have is just ridiculous, I have since had people claim I lied because the intensity and number of times things happened seemed just too unreal. But no these people exist. I wish love and strength to everyone who deals with someone like this. Please know you will get out the other side. You will have friends and partners who are trustworthy and who will love you without tearing you down. My life fell apart due to my entire family dying within a year of one another of cancer while my body also broke, I was a full time carer for my abusive dying mother and this girl was already years into hard core bulling and abuse. I am still on my own journey of healing but I am fighting to reclaim my life. I lost my store, I lost a lot of people and so many years of hard work, but I won’t give up. All my love sweet beans

A thing that I don't see being brought up that often is that Shannon claimed that when Emily said she had been sober for 3 years in *September 2016*, it would therefore mean she started being sober around November *2012* (1:27:38 on the video) But anyone who knows basic math will know that the real date would have been Semptember *2013* (2016-3=2013). Shanon just pretends not to know basic math and hopes no one will notice and pretends that 3 years before 2016 would be 2012 to claim that Emily couldn't possibly be intoxicated in 2013 which is when she said the ass*ult took place Trying to defend someone who commited sa is gross enough, doing so by deliberately twisting a victim's words to fit a narrative is just abhorrent

I'd leave comments or write posts implying self harm and then after the crisis was averted and I felt better, I would come back without mentioning what had happened unless I really needed to speak about it. I would also say that I wanted to take breaks from writing, from blogging... from Goodreads... from Social media, and would come back the next day to post something because I wanted to forget about my own problems. This is 'normal' behaviour for somebody with mental health. As a friend of mine said years ago when I actually tried to do something, they would prefer to see me posting to my social media or post my stories or blog posts than have my accounts go radio silent because they were worried that if I went silent, that I went through with hurting myself. I imagine that the friends and fans of Hopeless Peaches felt the same way when they realised that she was literally in the worst place you can be mentally and physically, and then find through a post that she was still alive and fighting her battle to remain alive. Long comment, I know... but I just wanted to say this.

It's a powerful point that's overlooked with "them wanting attention" Powerful thought you shared, thank you for doing it.

I've seen a comment on here that insinuated that because Peaches had young followers, those posts she made were predatory. And that assumption didn't sit right with me at all because that behavior seems fairly common in those with really bad mental health issues. Felt like that comment was invalidating while assuming that Peaches was trying to get her viewers to help her on purpose when she was just venting like any other mentally ill person on social media tends to do.

I can't imagine how so many ppl seemed to agree that Peaches was just trolling for attention instead of, I don't know, maybe a legitimate cry for help??

I hope Shannon gets the help she needs and is able to recover and give Emily a genuine apology. Stalking is rooted in self-hatred and insecurity.

I honestly don't think I hope for than anymore. I think after all this, she is beyond retribution

This is triggering. I have an ex who did this exact same thing to me. It was the scariest 2 yrs of my life as he threatened to hurt me and my family members. I feel for Emily. No one should have to go through something like this.

Creepshow aggravated and annoyed me af. Always talking about being homeless for pity points. Making boring art. And just being more and more like a con. I have dealt with alot of shit but I don't bring up EVERY video that I was homeless.

Omg I couldn't stand her when she was at her peak. She thought she could just throw her opinions around that were so easily seen as ridiculous.

I respect you for not diagnosing Shannon with anything in this video. There's clearly something going on, some deep-seeded issues that have altered her behavior and made her act in this terrible way, but we can't really know what that reason is. These kinds of issues are super complicated and they don't excuse the behavior itself. Trying to "guess the problem" would really just be muddying the waters and making room for ableism. What matters is what Shannon did to harm Emily, and the extent of the damage.

It’s like the art community saw everything going on in the beauty community & pulled a hold-my-beer. I’m glad Emily got to speak her truth though & I hope she finally gets some peace. Shannon needs to be banned by every wifi provider on earth.
