Are you people serious? The ending was not a twist or a came out of nowhere thing at all. It was totally expected if you actually listened and paid attention. He kept talking about how his uncle kenny killed someone, then mentioned that his grandfather used to live in the woods and killed people also. He says "I guess it runs in the family" so the hangman was either his uncle Kenny who escaped or it was his father. Listen to the song about how the hangman was caught so a new hangman has to replace him. His grandfather was caught, his uncle Kenny was caught so it was time the son Carries out the tradition.

In all seriousness there’s so many weird and unnecessary parts of this creepypasta that really takes you out of the story. I can’t help but feel like the author just mashed together several elements from other stories without fully understanding how they worked in the stories he/she ripped them from. I mean when was it ever established that the hangman considered his victims to be his “masterpieces”? There were several parts in the story that seemed like unnecessary details. The author waisted so many lines just to explain details that had no significance to the story that it made me completely loose interest half way through! I only finished it 2 days later because I had nothing else to do.

The whole time it kept trying to lead up to something with the bully but apparently just forgot about it and at the last minute decided that it would ,without any previous hints besides that it runs in the family, have the kid be the killer.
