Not much to say about this one. A messy pile of scrappyness! All over and everywhere everything was slapped together with some interior walls added later. I noticed no connected furnace in the basement, so I belive at the end the woodstove and the electric heaters were the only source of heat. Some of the color choices and Jorge and Carlos's phone numbers at 6:11 lead me to belive a hispanic family likely lived here. I was thinking about calling those phone numbers but I know better, I think. Thanks for the tour Greg, stayin tuned! 🤠👍

Thans for watching John, and leaving your comment as usual! Some horrible workmanship on the electrical side of things eh? It is a wonder it still stands!!
@JohnShinn19607 ай бұрын
@@UncappedFilms Probably still standing because the electric is shut off. As an electrician's helper for a short while in the late 70's I know it would be just a matter of time, all that would be necessary is an overloaded circuit or chaffed wires. Lots of shock hazards there too!

yep, some of that stuff was just insane to see. as you could tell by my reactions lol@@JohnShinn1960

John I lived a few of these old houses and the electric was crap in about all of them..I don't believe who installed the electric in these houses years ago knew much about how to do electrical work😅😅
@JohnShinn19607 ай бұрын
@@visitingdeadadventures "Soft" wiring and connections definitely doesn't belong outside the wall, you may have heard of "Wiremold" brand metallic conduit for that. Theres also the standard metallic conduit and boxes for junctions, recepticles and switches, nowhere seen in this house. 😲

OM wow! Loved the rat turds in the fridge! At least they are comfy and lovin what's been done to the place. I can't believe someone would uglify such a beautiful house! All I could think when you went in the basement and said someone's shoes were buried was "I bet the person's foot is still in it too..." Interesting exploration. It takes classical Victorian to Tacky cheap renovation and puts it on a whole new level. Still there are those signs of the beautiful home it once was. It's a miracle it's still standing and isn't in a pile of ashes. Thank you for the video. I'm quite an insomniac and your videos are quite entertaining and informative. I love the styles, the curves, turns, nooks and crannies of architecture, it's fascinating. You have done some great work and are very knowledgeable. I would have never guessed that about the ceiling. Does it pose a health threat? I know the asbestos is very hazardous when then chemicals break apart (like under tile). I had no idea it was used like that. It was quite lovely.
@UncappedFilms6 ай бұрын
Hey Kat! Asbestos can give you cancer if you get it in your lungs. It attaches to the skin tissue and stays there for the rest of your life basically. So you have to deal with it specially because if you disturb it and breathe it in that's the risk you run. I love how you pointed out how the house was uglified. I found that very amusing but it's actually very true because it was a classic Beauty at one point. And so many people said something about that possibly being a foot. I really appreciate your kind comments, I try to focus on the details of all these classic houses that you just don't see anymore, so it's nice to hear that someone appreciates it and all the little quirky things that I point out in these places. I really appreciate your comments and your viewership and I hope that I can fill more of your time when you're up late.

My curiosity is now sated by seeing the inside of this house, which was a little on the empty side, but some of the baseboards were absolutely fabulous as were the window trims. The basement was super creepy, but I do like Fieldstone basements, I would say the bathroom colours the pink and blue one are probably about 65 years old because my in-laws had the same colours and their house. The pink colour choices were horrendous. Great job as always Gregg. Thank you.🎉
