It's safer to board up from the inside than the outside. Today I found the 1963 house I lived in in 63-65 at the age of 6-8. Sure doesn't look the way I remembered lol. Very modernized. Great to find it.

in a town called brougham, north of pickering, brock road and hwy 7 they boarded up the windows from the inside, i was born and raised there and theres so many abandoned houses there that are controlled by the government, they just sit and rot, i thought about contacting them to do a haunted series, because there is alot of paranomal there

It would be awesome to film these remaining houses before they are gone.. The house on the corner of Hwy 7 and Brock was restored by the Gvt. A few years back, but since abandoned, and like the others, falling into ruin. That one in particular would be worth filming.

So sad to see these places empty. Whoever owns this, could have had the tenants still living there. Marsh land is important to the environment. My gut feeling says that land will be levelled for new builds. Greed was never so blatant as it is now. Btw Ethan. Insects are the keepers of the earth. Lol. Thought I’d share. This property was probably repossessed, a treasure trove of CD. First house great explore even the out door vegetation although wild is interesting I love wild flowers and vegetation. The second house all those names written on that painted glass were girls name then the chain through the wall very strange goings on there. The lake or swamp around there makes it even more interesting so nice to see you with Carlo. When I first spotted you, you were exploring with him . Great explore Ethan Thank you.

I guess you could say that it's a little concerning that the oil tank is sitting outside as they are prone to rusting, hence why homeowner insurance companies typically require you to replace them after 15 years. The only possible good thing about the situation is hopefully they burned through most of the oil before vacating the place, as oil spills are a common cause of groundwater contamination.

These were likely built as 2nd / vacation homes. Yes, some families used to have those on one income too! I get a little disgusted when people turn single family homes into tiny little rental spaces. They never make sense for actual living. I think there have been squatters staying in both houses at different times. They probably left most things behind, to get out in a hurry, and not necessarily having anywhere else to go. A few wooden chairs I saw were probably original.

The “display case” is called an “entertainment center” the one bathroom that you nearly gagged over wasn’t rotted and the “carpet” on the toilet is a very common thing.
