This was my grandfathers house. We live just next door. We are heartbroken at its disrepair, the man that’s bought it from the Latvians ( not Polish), has done nothing with it. In the cold snap we had all the pipes burst which is why there’s so much damp. It’s very upsetting to see how it’s been neglected. Please don’t reveal where it is as it would be awful if it got vandalised.

The real truth is my estate has tried to save these for 40 yrs and my great grandmothers estate since the 1940's until I took it over in the early 1980's. It's the falsehood of lies that they were private homes is what caused the world wars. They were public buildings state hood local area government operations. When you go through the actually architecture and construction of the originals most of it was government and public use. I own it and have plans to demo it to put in modern homes for the lower middle class. Back to stand independently at a McDonalds job instead of sick aristocracy stance that they have to be sex slaves renting rooms.

It's absolutely criminal that this uniquely historic place has been dishonored and desicrated by careless owners and institutions!!! It should have been a museum preserved with all of it's original furnishings and fixtures...where was the Historical Society when the place was ousted from the original inheritors??? Shame, shame, shame. Would love to know more of the backstory, and only hope that it will indeed be finally taken in hand by the proper authority for restoration. The detailed architectural elements (fireplaces especially), and the paintings (?) etc, are all worth millions literally...WTH??? Who owns this property in the present? Ghosts and the banks???

From reading into the history of this place, it closed in 2016 and was to be sold off, but looks like no buyer must have been found. From all the mould and decay in some areas of the building you would have thought it had been abandoned for much longer than 7 years. It is such a shame it is left like this, being such an old and beautiful building, and I hope it is not left to fester for much longer - being a listed building, it would cost a buyer a lot of money to renovate it the longer it is left abandoned. Would seem that the pictures of Henry Viii are indeed original and actually were owned by him, so yes, I'd imagine its not a great idea them being left there like that.

Sadly, these things are likely to be genuine and just left to rot, like many other abandoned historical British buildings. They're mostly abandoned because of the cost of maintaining them. Is likely that all of the panelling and beams are genuine. All of the little rooms will have been built in for later accommodations. It's criminal how we neglect our history.
