You can make alcohol without hurting anyone. You can drink alcohol without hurting anyone. The vast majority of people don't have a predisposition to alcoholism where they get addicted and can no longer control themselves when it comes to drinking. You can't make CP without hurting children in some capacity. If you're attracted to children, chances are you're already predisposed to a lot of really bad shit that will absolutely impact your ability to not hurt real children if you indulge in images. Most abusers were abused themselves; it's a very ugly cycle, and allowing the negative parts of the abuse fester and turn into a desire to inflict abuse does nothing to stop the cycle from perpetuating itself.

It's a hard subject to solve, but I don't think decriminalizing CSA material is gonna solve anything. Like. There's no easy way to help curb certain attractions people have, but easier access to what they're wanting only makes that craving worse. There are studies that show that access to that material only makes people want to try out what they're watching in real life. I think the only real solution is therapy, but then the person has to be willing to change, and most of them are too far gone for that.

There is, in fact, a way to curb paraphilia because paraphilia isnt the same as a sexuality. It's a psychosexual disorder of the mind which can be treated in the same way addictions are treated. Denial. Separate the paraphile from all sources of the arousing material. Easier said than done when they can just think about it; but making CSAM hard to get and, just as importantly, hard to stumble across and 100% unacceptable to have makes it so at the very least the societal spread of the paraphilia and its progression are kept down. As for pedos themselves, honestly I dont think it's worth rehabilitating them. A lead injection insures they never offend or make more of themselves. _And_ it lowers demand for CSAM by removing those demanding it..

As a kid who “wanted it” I was already technically assaulted by another kid I wouldn’t be surprised if they were assaulted as by an adult before that. Minors can’t consent because they’re minors who don’t understand what they’re consenting to, and if they do understand and are trying to consent not only can they not consent because they’re still minors but they also aren’t mentally fit to consent because of prior trauma or mental illness, it’s normal for a kid to be attracted to an adult. It is not normal for them to pursue it, they should probably be mentally evaluated and helped with whatever is going on, not allowed to pursue an adult. It’s as if he’s saying “if we legalize the grooming and abuse the victim will not see themselves as victims anymore, therefore getting rid of victims.” As someone who’s experienced abuse what he’s suggesting is that the victims internalize the abuse. He’s suggesting we engineer the trauma response that will have the least consequences for him as the abuser and that is absolutely disgusting.

Yes, desensitization does drive you to further and further extremes.
