Hey guys, my name is Chase - Im the actor who played the “creepy guy”. As an actor, this topic is important to me. My wife experienced sexual harassment at work and this kind of behavior is not okay. When Luis approached me with this role, it struck a chord with me, and I felt really disgusted about this character. It’s not just about women speaking up, it’s about men not acting this way. Guys, step up, respect women, and never treat others as if they are an object to be acquired. Even though this video is exaggerated, it can feel just as repulsive in subtler contexts. Men, we must step up and be that example. Show others how you can love women, admire their God given beauty, and show them respect just like you would want other men to treat your sister or your mom. I used to work in a call center several years ago and one of the supervisors would sexually harass me. One time he sent me a nasty message so I replied for him to meet me out in the warehouse in an empty aisle. As he walked into the aisle he started unzipping his pants. I busted him in his kneecap with a piece of metal pry bar and punched him in the face busting his nose. I got terminated but as security was escorting me out the door the guard thanked me for how I handled it and gave me his contact information so he could be a reference listed on my resume. This man had been doing this for years but due to his position no one ever spoke up about it.

Can't express enough what an important message this is. I speak as a seasoned professional with over 20 years tenure at a fortune 100 company. I'm in the Corporate headquarters and have interfaced with senior leaders. Dad & Granddad (God rest their souls) gave me some great advice when I graduated college three plus decades ago - "Don't S*** where you eat!" While I do know of a slim few (very few) where two have met through work & it has developed into a good relationship and marriage- 95% do not. I being generous in considering that 5% work out. Don't do it. (case 1): Pursuing a serious monogamous relationship is trying enough as it is, putting that into an office environment even complicates both the relationship and the work environment even more. Co Workers, even under the best of circumstances, with still gossip. (case 2): A "fling" for sport with a co worker will bite you! Now IF that immediate manager is good he/she will take care of it right then and there. One if not both players will encounter a "change of circumstances" . Perhaps opportunities might exist for an internal transfer to another department or maybe not. Probability is very likely for separation from the company. On the other hand IF the immediate manager is irresponsible, and ignores it, stories do have a way of traveling up the reporting chain. In this event the number of people experiencing a sudden career change will increase to include the manager that initially ignored it. "Internally transferring personnel" to another department isn't given consideration when a senior manager learns of a junior manager failing to contain an issue that never should have made it out of the department. (case 3): Hiring of an applicant conditional upon a "favor". Along these lines I will also include a subordinate "coming on" to the boss for a promotion. Termination. There might be some outliers among private smaller companies, but no such animal exists among fortune 500 public corporations. In fact any public corporation that is subject to SEC filings must comply with many laws and these include employment practices. This is serious business, companies staff in house legal counsel, and personnel departments with strict policies around this. Large companies have requirements that employees must, as a condition of their employment, complete annual code of ethics online course and attest to it! Sexual is a very big part of this. Year after year this is hammered into us. A manager caught having a "rendezvous" with a direct report is strike 1, 2, & 3 right there. Manager gone; subordinate likely gone. A legal liability exist for the company and dismissed manager as well. Other employees of the immediate department -who may have felt disregarded or unfairly treated because they did not engage in the "favor" game - have taken legal action. 6 figure judgements (and more) have been awarded. In "rumored" cases where nobody is caught, there is no smoking gun, but there is a lot of chatter, inuendo; not good either. Personnel will dispatch its staff of managers to the department and conduct interviews with all employees under that domain. About like a detective conducting an interview. A fact finding mission - more like a DIRT finding mission. In fact these managers doing these interviews are part of corporate security and have law enforcement experience. These interviews are not good for departmental morale. Even where there is no finding of infraction/ nobody is terminated a cloud has been cast. The accused manager although not fired, will find future consideration for career advancement non existent. The current paradigm of said managers authority & responsibility will be reduced bit by bit until they get the message and leave. When a Woman levels any accusation of harassment against a Man, personnel will have a bias in favor of the woman's relating of events. If the Man is making the accusation sympathy from personnel will be about 50/50. Personnel departments tend to favor the lady, in he said /she said stories, until evidence proves otherwise This has been long but I hope I have conveyed how important this is. Perhaps I should say what a guaranteed failure this is. This is really directed to those in their twenties just starting out. Those my age with years experience know this. I have counseled a few new hires (guys) about this. Don't go looking for a "candy shop" in the office. I don't care how cute or hot she (or he) might be. It won't work to your favor. Focus on establishing yourself as a person of integrity, diligence, quick study, & a team player. These attributes do far more for your career than any fling.

He's not saying it's alright, he's mentioned in his other videos he's not giving the people in these stories happy endings is because it's the reality. No one wants to believe these women who are getting harassed is because that's the sad reality.
