I loved this series as a young child. I remember it very well. I didn't think it was scary at all just gentle, silly and comforting. Barbara Mitchell as Mother was the best thing about it.....

My sisters swore they saw a witch in our local playpark, when I was a baby. I was born in 75. I wonder if Lizzie inspired them?

Those episodes that have other local kids in them are ruined by a disgusting gender inequality that is cruel to boys and could have had a real life oppression effect peer pressuring them. The girls' knees are bare but the boys' are covered. This is a social impacter wronging boys who have a heat sensitivity or a sensory issue against covered knees.
