The first story broke my heart. I know seeing elderly people talking to themselves and holding dolls seems like something straight out of a horror movie, but it’s advanced dementia and they can’t help it. My mom has Alzheimer’s with some periods of lucidity, but I grieve because it’s not her anymore and I was hoping to patch things up between us before her time comes

I’ve had sleep paralysis before, but instead of seeing some demon, I just heard my cats collar jingle and somehow instantly knew it was her, however she had been missing for a few days. When I woke up the jingling was gone but my room was exactly the same, then I got the news the next day that she had been hit by a car and died. I was very attached emotionally to my cat and I could tell she loved me back so I really feel it was just her saying goodbye.

I used to have alot of compassion about those things. Not so much now, I know better

A 12 Yr old that couldn't scream as she was carted away like a side of beef! Really!? No screaming, no kicking, just silent, in broad daylight in a crowded place? Riiight!! People should at least write believable stories! Even a 5 year old would have screamed! Questionable and doubtful stories like these cast doubt on all the stories even though I think some of them are real!

That second story is so creepy. Reminds me of when I had a dream I was in a room participating in an exorcism and I was so scared in my dream I was singing that song "Jesus Loves Me" to help comfort me. I heard other children/people singing it with me too and then when I turn to look at the girl that was possessed, she was singing it too! LIKE TF!! She smiled back at me like it had no effect on her.

I don't see what was so creepy about the "retirement home" (lol, I think he meant nursing home). That "type of memory loss" is dementia and with how confused these people are they say a lot of odd things and often really do like things like baby dolls (she probably just had more than one). Maybe if you don't know any of that it's way creepier.

Also lombard isn’t considered a chicago suburb. It is considered the chicago land area. miscommunication on the op’s part. I love the rest of these stories good job lets read! But I must admit that one about the nursing home was rubbish. Demented patients with severe loss of memory quiet often have dolls and they think they are real at times or they just give them a sense of familiarity with the memories they still have and such. This is the first time I’ve ever said something about a story being silly but I must admit those guys had no sense about them 😂
