creo has so less user, the reason is that no tutorials, but we love it, creo is so technical software neet depth of knowledge and we Indian suffering from this problem because here no teacher , even me too a design trainer we train all cad software but we know less then we share less we need knowledge and good trainer like you, thank you.

Really helpful tutorial, worked perfectly saving me from modelling bulk items within my assembly. Thanks.

Wow. This is enlightening. I didn’t know so many people had issues with bulk items so I’m glad this helps.

Hi Dave, how would you handle items on your BOM that are processed in manufacturing, like say a foam gasket seal that comes in a long roll, but you only use 4 strips of on your assembly which totals say 2meters, thanks!
@CADPLMGuy Жыл бұрын
It's complicated and I can't answer that question in isolation. Are you using Windchill? How are you creating your process plans / work instructions? Are you connected to ERP? How are you kitting? The real question is, what is the BOM on the drawing used for? That will dictate the level of detail and what you need to capture.
@captainofiron Жыл бұрын
@@CADPLMGuy thanks for the reply. So we are using Windchill but only as a PDM, we have Oracle Agile for PLM and another Oracle software for ERP. Because of this the CM team has made a rule for no BOMs on the drawing, but we use WTparts to create and build our structures before importing them to agile. In the past at an old employer I handled it with a tabulated drawing and dash number variants for the different lengths but was hoping in the past decade PTC would have addressed it with a nicer/lower maintenance solution

great video I made all the items as parts I want to learn how to sort items in the bom cause i would like to add standard parts list in the last

Great video! What if my bulk item is actually a part like adhesive tape coming from a roll. I modeled the tape with length so that it shows up in my drawing. I have different types of tapes all over my assembly. I used in the relation editor the following statements: IF asm_mbr_part_number == "93725K76" QTY1 = "AR" ELSE QTY1 = rpt_qty ENDIF The BOM Table show that part as "AR", but when I add more parts to the IF statement, I get an error. Why? Am I not adding the other part numbers correctly? Thanks!
@CADPLMGuy3 жыл бұрын
You have to either use a bunch of nested else statements or use the method I show.
@mannyveyna18823 жыл бұрын
THANKS! That did it! I nested the IF statements like this & it worked! IF asm_mbr_part_number == "93725K76" QTY1 = "AR" ELSE QTY1 = rpt_qty IF asm_mbr_part_number == "8117A25" QTY1 = "AR" ELSE QTY1 = rpt_qty IF asm_mbr_part_number == "9402T61" QTY1 = "AR" ELSE QTY1 = rpt_qty ENDIF ENDIF ENDIF I did put the ENDIF statement after each "QTY = rpt_qty" statement, but it didn't work. Then I placed the three ENDIF statements at the end, & it worked! Thanks again...and great video as well.

How to create the drawing formate with title block & revision table ?
@CADPLMGuy5 жыл бұрын
I will add that to the list. Fact of the matter is, creating a format is pretty boring assuming you're not importing a DXF of an existing format. It's mostly manual labor sketching geometry. The tables are just regular tables, usually with & and the name of the parameter you want populated in it.
@rameshdharman91975 жыл бұрын
If we import dxf of existing format , than we need keeps on importing for all drawing right.
@CADPLMGuy5 жыл бұрын
You do not. It's a one-time operation when you are creating the format. Then the DXF geometry is embedded in the format.
