Hi Nick, would you happen to know some good brands of shoes/boots in Europe with a wide toebox to serve our natural foot anatomy ? This shoe you've got that you just resoled with Vibram looks promising - looks wide and comfortable. I see you're a fan of the Duckfeet Odense as well (I enjoyed your Ode to changing seasons) - what other brands are in your collection? You're a wellspring of information within the ethos I now find myself gravitating towards as I shift away from the fast fashion consumerism of my younger days. Thank you for the knowledge! Sai

Hi Sai, that's not the easiest of questions! Duckfeet is the first that comes to mind, and certainly the most clearly focused on comfort. One of the problems with the more orthopedically inclined footwear is that it tends to be less esthetically pleasing. An alternative is to go for something like Clarks Wallabees in suede, where the pliability of the suede makes them naturally more forgiving to wear. My collection is a strange accumulation of the comfy and very not comfy, the traditional British Goodyear Welted primarily, and no, they don't tend to be very comfortable! Some brands use lasts that are more foot shaped than others though, so there is variance there. Trickers use a very pleasing last for one of the pairs I have, though I can't recall the model name now.

@@GarmologyVideo very interesting - are those Duckfeet that you show in the video? I am also trying to get more into shoes, specifically more comfy but high quality ones. Thanks
