Bought one today at the hardware store, didn't know crescent made a knife, just looking at it through the packaging it seemed like a good beater knife, once I got it out and played with it I feel like the 25 bucks was too cheap a price, not complaining, just good to see some good quality things are still a decent price, might buy another just to have around since everything good goes away

I saw it today on amazon.. for 14 and almost grabbed it but thought I should wait for a better sale? I have both 5cr versions and like them so far. 7 bucks for the D2 is a steal.

These actually look pretty good. Seems like they got most of the details right that actually matter in a knife u will actually use. Saw one at Lowes today and almost picked it up. Probably will now after this video. Thanks 🙏👍 💯

I absolutely love my crecent. It's easy to open two handed when I'm using it to cut my burrito so I can eat like a civilized man at a fast food restaurant. The flipper is smooth as silk and there's nothing bad to say about it.

I picked this knife up almost two years ago hoping to get a cheap work knife and it’s survived abuse on both a farm and in a weld shop and its still standing. Sure I sharpen it every few months. I can not recommend this knife enough! Only complaint is that the handle is very slippery if your hands get a bit oily

Decent beater knife , as for the men’s vitamin will need to know how it feels in pocket before it becomes my new EDV

Thanks JT. For the vitamin reminder, men's breastfeeding warning, and four knife review! : - ) These sure do look good, for the money. I had it in my head though. That each size had a drop point blade, and a harpoon style blade. Not one style blade only, for each size. I do like the blade shape on the smaller ones better, I see now. That I was able to see this on the big screen in the conference room. But I know those knives would just be too small for me. 5.8 oz for an aluminum scaled knife, does seem pretty crazy. I started watching this video about an hour ago, right after seeing the notification come in. While I was on my phone anyway. Then because I was still working. I keep getting interrupted every few minutes, and didn't get finished watching it until just now. Well done! The lock-bar access, and the landing zone for the finger after flipping. Sure does look to be well done as well. What size torx does that pivot screw take? That looks to be a nice size too.
@chimchu32322 жыл бұрын
I'm literally taking mine apart cleaning them right now. Pivot is a T9 and body screws are T6. For the price these are solidly built beater knives. Hold an edge long enough for me, my only complaint is the bearings tend to get fouled up from grit or sand, and it make the action crunchy and unbearable. Keep sand and grit out of the action, and the bearings are smooth as butter

Nice 1 A Day plug! 😂 I picked up a Crescent recently. It’s like a budget variation of a high end knife from a company like Civivi or Artisan. I like it!

Will that One a Day help with my ED ? Seriously, that design is what I look for in a knife. I like simple whether it’s a MT Socom Elite or Spyderco DF2. Solid liners can be good because the don’t collect crap and help keep a knife strong. Off the top of my head, my more expensive BM 950 Rift and Fox Terzuola’s have solid liners. The hobby has taken off so much, new companies are popping up every 2 weeks. Years ago, I’d try to keep up and buy all the popular knives. Good thing I stopped, I’d really be in debt now.

Very strong metal. If you use a Sears Craftsman pocket stone and get the angle right three stores on each side and my thumb told me it can't get any sharper. Can shave hair on top of my hand. Five Star review from me.

Thanks for sharing these. Nit real fond of the packaging would have preferred a plain cardboard box to that clamshell. For the price definitely worth the try. Even if you decide not to use it it would be a great backup or that knife you give people that say can I borrow a knife. Also great for cutting or whatever you wouldn't want to use your 100 or up dollar knife. If weight is a real issue could always remove some metal from liners I wouldn't weight isn't an issue with me. Thank you Mr. Kluver for letting JT review them. Thsnks JT for giving something me something else to spend money on. LOL.

That hypothetical ad was absolutely hilarious! For people that don't usually take the 0.25 seconds to hit that like button, that ad should definitely make it worth them taking that 0.25 seconds out of their day. Maybe their thumb doesn't have enough strength to hit that like button, well those vitamins would definitely give them adequate thumb strength to do so. lol Great video once again JT.
@JTsKnifeLife3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha that's exactly why I recommend a multivitamin: to give you the strength to hit the like button 😂😂

I have the smaller one in g10, and the bigger one in aluminum. Both great work knives, solidly built and decent steel for the price point. Easy to take apart to clean, relatively easy to sharpen. Really good beater knife. My only complaint is the bearing action, I tend to get sand or grit in the action due to my work environment and it makes the action crunchy, and you pretty much have to take it apart, clean it and lubricate it again. I would carry thus everyday for work if it came with simple bronze washers for the action
@chimchu32322 жыл бұрын
Wanted to add, the smaller one is quite a bit lighter, but doesn't hold an edge as long. That said it's quick and easy to resharpen
@Muscovy72 жыл бұрын
@@chimchu3232 you can easily swap the blades between the two I have no doubt.

What ??!!?! No Maxamet, no M390, no CTS-XHP, no $250 + price - Blasphemy ! I thought you were a knife reviewer. You mean these are for people who need a knife (aka anybody) that go by a store & are OK with spending sub $30 maybe sub $20 on a cutting instrument. I used to resemble that remark. (OK a long time ago). They deserve an effective knife too & when they lose it they & whoever finds it may get interested in the hobby. Good luck with One-a-Day.

I cringe just thinking about a 5cr15mov blade. Without trying to be a steel snob, I can't see what usage demographics it would be ok for. 5cr dulls so easily when cutting some cardboard and tape, at least from my take. I totally agree in them being beater knives for beater price, but does the edge hold long enough to be worth the hassle? Light use daily will give you sharpening nightly, right? The last thing I'd want to do after coming home, is to sharpen my knife...lol These are moreso legit questions, since you carried, not trying to be a jerk.

Multi vitamins are not idea. When you take them you have multiple vits trying to compete for absorption in your bloodstream. So some of them will goto waste. Also some vitamins are fat soluble while others are water soluble. For example vitamin d should be taken with healthy fats for example avocado. Your b vitamins for example are water soluble. Anyways... Its better to find out what you actually need that your not getting in your diet and take that then wait a few hours before taking the next vit. It's often better to eat foods that contain the vits you need than vitamins. For example Vitamin D is something you may have to supplement. But something like zinc you can get from foods. Unless you eat fast food or processed foods. As for the brand of knives... For under $30 I guess that's fine. They most likely cost sub $8 on aliexpress and resell for $15-$30 I believe outpost76 did some testing on them. I can't remember the outcome but probably wasn't great.

It actually did better than average for D2.
@JTsKnifeLife3 жыл бұрын
It would take a heck of a lot of any of those fat soluble vitamins to cause a problem though. I'm in the florida sun pretty constantly and on top of my multivitamin I've never had an issue with Vitamin D. As for the knives: they cut what I need cut, and that's all I really care about.
