I got a mini grip and didn't like the scales, got a nice ones, since I placed the order for them, I keep thinking about how to get it done, the right way, this help, thank you, it's really necessary to heat up the screws to loose them? Anybody?

@@Crazyknives If you have good or even average tools you don't need to heat up the screws. I've taken tons of these apart and never had a problem!

It is illegal in the UK as you can open it with one hand, locking knives are also banned. Love the knife though and would love to own one.

Use a $20 map gas canister and a $10 tip (both purchased from Ace, Lowes, Home Depot) next time. You could get to purple and beyond within seconds. This took dreadfully long because your torch burns at a SUPER low temp.

I have a ton of old vintage Benchmades from the late 90s and early 2000s. I was lucky enough to find a pawn shop that, for whatever reason, got pre-production run models in routinely. It was really cool to pick them up and compare them to the regular release months later. Sentinels, Dark Stars, a few butterflies, McHenry and Williams, and CQC7's. Someday, I should do a KZbin video on them because I still have a case of them.

Back in the day I had a full-size Darkstar, pre-production run but it vanished about a decade ago. I have since replaced it but not for the original $100 I spent two decades+ ago. The Sentinel is by far my favorite all time knife and about a year ago finally got a second one NIB and passed on my original to my dad.

Woww I wish I had run across this alot earlier. I recently lost my HK14715 recently and was appalled at what they are selling for now on Ebay. I seen one go for about 400, the highest I've seen so far.

I Love counterfeits. They are so good, way better than the price point. I got 4 Osborne. They are a reflection of the original company policies of overpricing their products. Screw them.

Pattern not model and they're covers not scales on traditional knives. I know I'm 5 years late but just an FYI for everyone.

The price is because it'll be worth twice that in a decade. I have a rare Microtech that employees of Microtech hadn't saw one. This is the only know version. Anyways ...it was $1000 7/2021 and today it's worth $1500

Great review! I will say that the black coating’s main purpose isn’t for corrosion resistance. You can see plenty of pictures online of coated Spyderco tool steals that have orange rust all over them. The coating helps a small percentage with rust but is not rust proof the way a cladding is.

Bought the partially serrated version in '14. I needed a utilitarian edc with a flat and Phillips driver that also met the blade size restrictions where I work. I think I paid too much for it but that's water past the dam now. Also thinking back, it appears to have been marketed to urbanites who don't usually carry a blade and think anything over 2 inches is "BIG" Carried it everyday for over 6 years, then It vanished somewhere in the house and haven't seen it since. I had a few small issues keeping it to personal sharpness requirements, (able to cut 1/2 " reinforced automotive water hose in one pass) then found that a diamond sharpening rod did the trick better than anything else. The two screwdrivers 🪛 got some use on small tasks but I found that the Phillips was the hardest to use due to its angle of deployment. The lockup was really good but the pocket clip was easily sprung out of shape. Apparently gerber no longer makes these, as I've been trying to find a replacement and haven't had much luck. So to replace it I picked up a Ruike M51 and so far am happy with it. Far easier to sharpen and holds an edge longer.

I have two. The only problems are the size (a bit too large) and small cutout which makes it a bit difficult to open.

I don't like the fact that the blade isn't centered when seated in the closed position. I don't like to see any play in the blade ~ side to side or up and down. The blade centering can probably be achieved by taking it apart and adjusting it but the knife owner shouldn't have to do that but all and all the Elementum looks like a pretty good knife for the price. Thank you for the review. 😎👍

I have some knives that are pretty cool but I would like to get a few more in my collection, the Civivi Elementum, the Kershaw Blur, and a high quality Bushcraft knife, the Gerber Strongarm; after that I should probably slow down and not become excessive compulsive. 😂

Just to confirm you can indeed anodize steel scales? But it will only turn bronze is that correct? Or will the steel also turn to purple and blue?
@JTsKnifeLife4 ай бұрын
You can do steel, but there is a measure of inconsistency in the results depending on the type/quality of the steel. Bronze is generally easy and safer to achieve, and while in some cases you can get blues and purples with steel, the only way to know if those colors can be achieved on a specific piece of steel would just be try it.

Hey man, i hear you. But if I remember correctly, there was a lot of hype about how this knife was so great and was on par with a Spyderco Delica, so I was expecting it to at least not suck. I'm pretty sure I was hard on this one mostly because of how much I disagreed with the other perceptions that were out there about this knife.
