Thanks so much - brilliantly explained! Just a couple of questions: how do I ensure that the listing doesn't go live? I want to set up a draft listing and get the FNSKU barcode but it will be maybe 4-6 months before I have the inventory at Amazon and only then I want it to go live. Also, if I do brand registry first, I can remove the issue with brand approval? As I want to do this anyway. And again it won't affect the incentives you get for going onto brand registry even if they won't be used till months later?

Re UPC barcodes - it's maybe worth to mention that GS1 US typically does not allow splitting or purchasing multiple smaller prefixes instead of one larger prefix to circumvent their pricing structure. I.e, if you need say 20, you better go for 1-100 range and pay $750 instead of purchasing 20 x $30 individual codes. The surplace is your motivation for further expansion. Stay positive!

I have a product with 4 colors and the swatches just got added to the listing as the product is making its way to the fulfillment centers this week. Now that swatches are on the listing, I realize that they are organized alphabetically, which is not ideal for my product. I’d like to have them listed from light to dark, not in a random order. Is there anyway to change the order that the swatches appear on the listing or to change the naming convention so it will be ordered by my preference? Will that mess up anything with fulfillment? You're welcome! The tax code depends on your product. You can look it up with google or ask a tax professional. The release date is when the product was released. The shipping group is if you're shipping the product (FBM), what shipping template the product should use. If there's not asterisk next to the field, the fields aren't required. Just leave them blank.

Hello. You won't be able to buy your inventory from a retailer to get ungated. You need invoices from authorized wholesalers or distributors. Kohls and other retailers will only give you a receipt.

Hello. If you're doing private label, you need to buy a new UPC barcode. If you're not doing private label then the info you entered doesn't match the info for that existing UPC. I have an issue that Amazon cannot resolve. It is a common issue in forums but nobody has found a solution. I create a new product listing not sold in amazon, complete all the fields with no errors left. I click the save and submit button at the end but there is just a spinning arrow and then nothing shows up in my inventory. I've tried doing it from different browsers, my phone and two other computers. I've tried deleting cookies, cache etc. no resolution and Amazon keeps sending me generic bot responses. Hey crescent, I had a couple questions if you don't mind. Firstly I am trying a new product so I only ordered 100 units from my supplier, however any order I make regardless of unit count will take 2-3 weeks to arrive at amazon warehouse. Should I wait to see if the product is successful or order more units already while these 100 arrive at amazon? Secondly, I applied and qualified for brand registry exemption, so I was able to use my brand on the product, in this case, can I make the product description really nice with pictures and other things or is this only for brands in the actual brand registry. thank you!!
