🎼What's this? What's this? Shay's walking 'round on stilts. What's this? Check out the hands she built. What's this? Grinning like a crocodile, suit extended by a mile, paint job that can't be reviled - what is this?! What's this? 🎵She's got a giant baseball that's wrapped around her head; the suit's lovingly painted rather than going to bed; there's a fancy tailcoat and a charming bat bow-tie; so many stripes; so much effort that cannot be denied ... 🎶Oh, look, what's this? Is that a child's mask? So big! It's perfect for the task! It's time - She's got giant skeleton hands, made of cardboard and rubber bands; and she's too tall to fit through doors, so she needs help to go explore; it's time for photos and for dancing and for showing off and for - what is this? 🎵Jack Skellington? Hmm ...

Kicking myself for not knowing about the hollow baseball...I have made a full sized Jack Skellington yard decoration, and I have never been happy with how his head turned out. That idea is getting stolen and used for next year. The costume turned out great!

This is beyond marvelous!! I’m proud of you like you’re my kid! When you said “the hard part is done” I knew that was gonna bite you. It has happened to me a thousand times!! 😂😂 FYI-to anyone making a mask like that, put in more air holes. Trust me.

needing to google every single height as a european who has no idea what feet is is painful lmao
@crescentshayАй бұрын
RIPP - the easiest rough conversion is that 3 feet is about a meter!! so hopefully that gives a quick sense!
@LayennEitarАй бұрын
1 ft is about 30 cm (30.48 to be exact), so having that in mind you can make quick estimations! But as a fellow European I understand the struggle 😅
@ghoultoothАй бұрын
I’m from the UK and we kind of use a mix. When someone asks your height, we give it in feet/inches (though I do also know my height in CM) and most of us have a rough estimate of what a certain amount of feet will look like. It’s an awkward one, I really prefer metres and centimetres lol

Stilts: Adjust to a boot that’s a few inches above normal comfort level. Wear it all day everywhere you go. When you get used to it, increase a few inches. Paint: is there a luminescent white paint? Would especially make the hands pop. Paint stripes: Instead of a brush use a pastry / frosting piping bag with a tiny hole or even a caulk gun. The paint might be a little thicker. Set up several plastic lines next to each other and a crank mechanism to pull the pants through the paint applicator. Or hold the pants still and move the applicator. Use tips off of plastic syringes attached to small plastic tubes. Spray nozzles would be great and might be made using one sprayer with the nozzle feeding into the multiple nozzles. The tall stilts scary? Transfer that scary into the character. Love the head! A fun great project. Looks awesome.
@ghoultoothАй бұрын
You shouldn’t alter a boot’s height without professional help because it can become incredibly unsafe to walk around in. What Shay did in the video is the best method

Wow. This turned out so good ❤ You would be the hit of any Con. It’s really cute that your roommate got the experience of such s quality character interaction at home. I got to meet Jack and Sally at Disneyland once and you would shocked at how tall the man is that plays him. Disney doesn’t a weird thing with his head though so that his mouth can more freely 😂 your Jack has a much more approachable face.

hi from franceee :) inCREDIBLE like OMG first i am so in awe in front of your perfectionism, i feel you so much when you’re here painting at 6am because you want it to be the best looking costume possible ! and the PIECE!!! it reaaaally looks sooo so good and realistic (maybe the ball head could have been something else but the SUIT !!!), I assume that you were so tired in the end you did not plan it, but this costume would have really deserved a spookier presentation with some darkness / scary vibe and all :) anyway i love your work, I would love to see an Elie Saab style dress !

For future or anyone wanting to do this, you can totally use masking tape to make the line work easier. Plus if you don’t prep the surface it’ll bleed through a little and won’t look so precise.
